Alrighty folks! It's almost plant out time and that means that my basement and lights are going to be freed up for some crossing projects through the summer.

I have 4 DWC buckets available for growing peppers indoors all summer. (not to mention racks for seedling growout)
2 spots are already taken by White Fatalii and CGN-21500.

These Plants will be the Base for all my other crosses. Meaning that I will use pollen from plants that are outdoors in the rest of my collection crossed with these. These will be tagged and harvested and grown out in the basement to choose phenos. I'm planning on going for taste more than heat.

Plants to choose from

My biggest focus will be crossing the White Fatalii with CGN-21500 but will do plenty of other crosses with them as well.

Y'all are more than welcome to offer suggestions as to what you would like to see crossed with what as well. I'm sure I will be sharing seeds with most of you at some point (prolly F2? maybe some F1's)

Here're some pics I just took of the Paper Lantern x Butch T Yellow in the 10 gal grow bag. The pods look similar some others you've posted. These aren't isolated, but I just put a paint strainer net on one of the larger branches that has buds on it.

Awesome!, Glad more than one has popped up with that shape. I noticed they also are darker green and smoother / shineyer than the other two plants I have. Hopefully that pheno tastes good. Curious to see what color they end up. Assuming red.

nice, kind of surprised it's red considering but i guess it's fully possible. I figured would end up orange.

I guess f2 will probably start throwing some more colors. be sure to report in on how the runts taste. Probably a little different than a full size pod?

7pot Burgundy X CGN-21500

I only have two plants going, One was the seedling that showed darker colors similar to what you get with CGN-21500

Pods are developing very round shaped.

Other plant looked more like a regular chinense. Starting to get some pods on it. They look similar to 7pot burgundy though still too small to tell. They look slightly more elongated

Looks like some the flowers  I crossed on Aji Omni color  may have  taken.

Dusted with Aji  Amarillo

A2 was dusted with Peach Bhut , though that plant doesn't seem to be growing true. Pods look cool none the less

A3 was dusted with Habanero Hot Lemon

The yellow pod i'm holding is the habanero hot lemon. Pretty pods for a hab

Amazing Glog. Really love the shape on that lanternxbutch cross. Can't wait to see the peppers when they're done

Thanks, me too, i'm really excited about this cross...  well ok most of them. I'd  say it's  equal excitement between the aji painapple, bahamian goat x butch t and this one.

The aji amarillo x caribbean red hab seems to show a lot of promise too.

Took two little bites out of baha x butch t yellow which ended up being the equivalent of one decent sized bite. This was from the slightly immature runts posted earlier. Never had a butch t but thought they have a very distinct flavor. I didn't get that here or any real intense heat. Early pods tho!!

It was very typical chinense, fairly strong, but nothing off-putting. Don't recall getting any pronounced fruity notes or a baha taste. Maybe similar to a Caribbean red hab. Just kind of regular I think but in a very good way. Should be pretty useful as a sauce or powder, pickled or whatever you want to do with it. I need to get back to the plot and see what's doing since its been about a week. This has the makings of a keeper.

Nice, if  they stay smooth  like that maybe we can swap a smfrb of peppers. See if the ones i'm growing taste like the ones you got. I do like the cherry red of those.

Edit: nvm I see your larger pod looks more on par with some the ones i'm getting as well.

Very pleasant smell,  similar to scorpion but not as pungent. No habanero scent at all. Fruity slightly floral.

I was surprised by the heat level. Very mild. I was expecting to hurt and it's  a very tolerable level. Maaaybe 30k? Not as hot as some ajis. Really good tasting.

I was wrong on the heat level, must not of been fully ripe. I got a tiny bite into the placenta and it lite me up big time. Jumped from 30k-ish to over 300... hurt pretty good for a hot minute. lip got red and swelled for a min. I can feel it in my gut still.

Still a great tasting pod though. Had a bubblegum hint to it smell wise. Can't wait to see how it tastes powdered.

Update on Paper Lantern X Butch T Yellow:

Here is the self-watering container plant. It's the smallest of the two, but is starting to put out a lot of new growth. It had been in a 20 oz cup for a long time.

ZEen3rhl.jpg

Have a couple ripe/getting ripe pods. They are kind of small/runty probably from being in the cup so long. Hopefully it'll put out larger pods.

The one in the 10 gallon grow bag is getting huge. One or two of the pods have the tail, but most are long curvy like the one you showed a couple posts back.
