This is my 2nd year Datil that just pushed out 105 pods. I have been pickin' chilis all spring off this plant.:onfire:

Beautiful plant! I don't know what I'm more jealous of, your datils or your marlin fishing skills! Nice pics!

Very nice! This is my first year trying to grow Datils and I only ended up with one half decent plant and one runt. Looking at that fine specimen, I'll definately locate some new seeds and try again next year. By the way, did you do anything special to keep it so healthy for the second year? Only one of my C. Chineses made it to a second year and it seems like its a bit behind the rest of my garden.

nice Cappy...great looking plant and it looks like it is loaded for bear and will be for a great while...will be interesting to see how many pods it puts out this year..

you gonna make Datil Relish out of these ?

No special at all. Did not cut back and kept in a 4 gallon container in a sunny window is all. Not trading any seeds ATM, maybe ask again after the grow season, sorry. boutros I went fishing again yesterday and had a slow day only bringing home one dolphin and one wahoo. The water is getting too hot and the fish have moved on. Time to harvest some chilis and start making hot sauces!:fire::hotsauce::drunk:

datils look good to dry......i think they will be translucent afterwards if you hold them up to the light.....

what size wahoo u caught? ............hope its bigger than you....

Thanks Ronnie, I don't keep records of my harvest like you do but I can try. Thinking of just pickling this batch but the relish sounds really good. Derek I wish I had room to overwinter many more plants but I don't. Second year chili plants are so cool.

Trinicoolieboy datil stay orange when dry, the fatallis get translucent. The state record is a 130 lb. wahoo and I haven't been that weight since high school. Yesterday's wahoo weighed in at 38 lbs, good eating size.

Dazzling pods there Cappy. Fantastic color. How is the flavor?

Fruity and pretty darn hot. I put some in a bottle of vodka last week and took it on the boat fishing. Taste great on fried chicken, deli sandwiches, and even to top off your beer.

Cappy compared to some of your other peppers these look almost serene. Good looking peppers for sure. Corvette yellow.

That plant is really putting them out too. No cut back, just a sunny window. You make it sound so easy.

Great plant there mate......good work. im going to be grabbing some of those this year for sure, they would go well in adding to my scorpion blood sauce...18 varieties of chilli now in each bottle eeeek!

You're definitely going to get seed requests.

That is a beautiful specimen of the Datil. I like the color which seems a bit more orange than the yellow I normally associate with the Datil.

Absolutely stunning!
