Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Time for the 2014 start...

Many of these plants were made possible by the generous people of the THP sending me seeds and pods Thanks!

I'm looking forward to warmer weather and dirt day!

I have a bunch of seeds started, and plants at all the stages.

Here's the grow bench, a T8 x4 on top and T5 x4 on the bottom, as you can see it's loaded.

I like starting the seeds in Jiffy Pellets, as soon as they stand up I trim the mesh off and plant them 1/2" proud in a pot, or in this case a cup.

A few plants living under the T5, I'm super impressed with this light!

Glad that weather missed you bud! Well, glad the strong winds and torrential pepper-washing-away downfalls missed you. Sorry you didn't get a touch of rain. Next round should be gentler and more useful.

Can't wait till your next pull.

PS

Here is the first funky reaper pod:

That's all I have for now, just shot a few in the heat while waiting for the mower to cool so I could give it it's carb clean it needs 10 minutes into every use. Damn thing...

Pods are looking good Scott!  Good to see the Funky Reaper from John as I am growing them too.  I think I had roughly 2 - 2.5 inches of that rain here.  Warm now and drying out.

Keep the cool drink and shade near by!

And yes very warm and fixin' to get seasonal around here!

I think next season you should just throw all the seeds you plan on growing in a bag and give it a shake.  We can have a lot of fun naming the varieties.  Sort of a visual Jeopardy  Have to have a list of number of seeds that didn't germ and how many of each you started with :)
Well I kinda feel like that's what I did at times ;)  I figured out most of my issue, but a few are still a challenge. At the other end of the spectrum, almost all the seeds are OP. So one really can never tell until one sees the pods. That's where THP members can help, Hell I'm giving them a challenge :shh:

Pod porn is looking awesome!!!.

Thanks!,

Some are doing better than others regarding pods, but I have until December. ;)

Love the look of the Manzanos, Sweet Paprika and the Eggplants JJJ! Stalled plants due to lack of rain are a drag, but they're all healthy enough to be able to take a little adversity. Continued success bro'!
??????????????????? ;) ;) ;)

Welcome to the jungle :) Looks top notch, Scott! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Stefan!

It's getting that way!

You too, enjoy it!

A quick stroll yielded a few fat Jals for poppers

The sweet Paprika in the raised bed is podding nicely, been struggling with mites in the raised beds :tear:

Nagabrains are looking better and better!

OW Orange Hab snuck a few little pods in there too.

Pods are looking great man. You had a full run of poppers yet or are you still building up supplies? I am going to do a pull of green jals tomorrow for roastin on the grill I think. Tomorrow or Sunday.

Mites are the pits. Do ladybugs snatch them up too?

Thanks Adam,

The jals are rolling in nicely, we've been using them for poppers mainly. The ladybugs have mainly been absent :tear:

Looking lush with all that S Texas rain. Yours and my Sweet Paprika look like a match.
Just have got my Jalas in the ground. I think I did that backwards. I should have put them in early for something quick to munch on.
It's a simple pepper, but they really are hard to beat for versatility.

Hmmmm. Something weird just happened, page cannot be displayed and everything I've posted in the last hour is gone.

Looks like we're at midnight, that's 17 hours of lost posting.

Liking the jal part. Hope some ladybugs move in for ya.

The stem on that OW Hab looks wicked. Sure would make a nice bonchi.
I saw one Ladybug in the garden, but that's not enough. But I'm not having issues in the garden, just in the raised beds.

My Thai Bonchi is flowering ;)

Thanks JJJ,

The rain has caused an explosion of growth! You know how it goes, you can water all you want but a rainy day makes things cook. I used to work with an old man who would comment after a hard rain, "I can just hear the grass growing!"

Can't beat the Jals!

Today went fast, went to SA and picked up supplies, and did stuff around the house. One cool thing is I'm not in the garden as much watering this season.

We did pick a couple of dozen ears of corn. This season we used Dipel dust (BT) to control worms. 3 out of 24 ears had a worm. Beats every ear like in the past.

Hiccup in the system. That's like a deja vu in the matrix.
What sucks is I spent an hour or more commenting and it's all gone..

I live in this world, so far I've never lost 17 hours :D

I would hate for that to happen in my world!

Lol I saw your comment on my glog and then reloaded and bam... Gone. Wondered if I was losin my mind.

Corn looks great! My favorite, though, is of the spicy popping variety.

Tons of rain here now... Maybe too much! Should have put down some nutes. Ah well.
Yeah, it tripped me out. I saw Stefan (meatfreak) post, clicked and his post wasn't there.  Then I started digging.

Fresh garden grown corn is a fav! Nothing like picking it and eating it a few minutes later.

Once the rain stops hit them. I use liquid nutes and they go away when we have a lot of rain. Tomorrow is 7 days since rain and time to hit them, well just the lamers ;)
