Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Time for the 2014 start...

Many of these plants were made possible by the generous people of the THP sending me seeds and pods Thanks!

I'm looking forward to warmer weather and dirt day!

I have a bunch of seeds started, and plants at all the stages.

Here's the grow bench, a T8 x4 on top and T5 x4 on the bottom, as you can see it's loaded.

I like starting the seeds in Jiffy Pellets, as soon as they stand up I trim the mesh off and plant them 1/2" proud in a pot, or in this case a cup.

A few plants living under the T5, I'm super impressed with this light!

Yessssssssss!!! So I met up with Scott for lunch at Margaritaville on the strip and had a couple beers and a burger. I met LB too :).

Funny because Scott told me he was going to have a camo baseball cap and in the short time I was there waiting there were 2 or 3 other guys with a camo cap. Lol.

We had a nice meet, and I really felt lucky to finally meet Scott and LB. Scott also brought me a few peppers, HUGE thanks Scott for the meet up, lunch and the pods!! I hope I can visit you soon too ;).

Here we are :onfire: :onfire: :onfire:

Great pull there, Scott  Those Green Hornet's look really gnarly, did yours start of elongated and then got wider? Curious what you think of the taste of the Scotch Bonnet Jamaican Indian Red. Have a great weekend!

Thanks Stefan!

Just got in and kind of brain dead from all the parental visits this month, but we're home finally to stay! The Green Hornet did start out Bhut looking and "put on weight" as it matured. I've been traveling so much this month that I haven't had a chance to taste one. But I checked the garden and it's simply loaded down! I'll have a report soon.

We had a blast, but always good to be home. Haven't slept in my bed much this month at all!

It was a pleasure to meet up with Walt! A very nice young man, I can say young man because my youngest is almost 30!

Walt brought me a really nice looking bottle of sauce to try, which I was looking forward to, but the TSA took it while going through my luggage. I didn't know hot sauce was a weapon of mass destruction....

I don't know how Walt grows the pepper plants so well in the crazy heat in Vegas, but he does a heck of a job!

I'll be out in the garden at sunup watering and picking, tons of color there! Daylon, my partner at work kept things alive and looking good while we were gone.

Looking forward to a few days of chillin' before going back to work!

Thanks Scott!! The pleasure is mine!

I hope to get a house soon and I want to make a setup similar to yours. I noticed the weather is very close to yours. The only thing is that I can't grow in ground because of the soil here or I could try. Otherwise it's all in pots but with a better setup and more sun exposure than what I get here. These couple of years I learned a lot so I'm really looking forward to see what I'm capable of doing when I get some nice space to play with ;).

It's a big bummer about the sauce... I had no idea either. Dang... I get sauces pretty often and in another chance I'll send ya another one ;).

For what you do using containers, dirt growing will go nuts for you. I know the soil in the region is not the best, but neither was mine. It takes a lot of work to get the soil correct, and I'm still working on that. Always adding more goodies, so it gets better and better. once you get your own place the rest will be easy ;)

They offered me a chance to mail it, but I had already turned in the car, and the flight was too close (time wise) for me to do anything. I'm sure a TSA agent will sample it ;)

Keep moving forward!

Welcome back Scott. We missed you and your garden. My girlfriend brought back hot sauce from England with no problems. They did have to put Infinity seeds through customs declaration or something of the sort. Glad you had a good time.

Dang, that's messed up, having the TSA people confiscate a woozie of sauce. At least you're not hurting in that department at home... ;)  Definitely looking forward to garden pics from the Peppernator now that you're back! :)

Yeah, I was surprised when they pulled me aside to check my bag. I thought they didn't like the glasses LB bought for the bar from Margaritaville when they scanned.

Thanks Chuck!

I'm wondering if we had checked our baggage if they would have let it go by?

Well after 11 take offs and landings this month my equilibrium is hosed. I wonder how people who fly a lot handle it?

Spent this morning watering the garden, and LB hit the fruit trees too. I also hit the plants with some nutes as they sure could use it. The garden is a bit ragged looking as we've been traveling a lot this month, so I have some catching up to do. Never mind the rest of the overgrown place...

OK, here's a few quick shots.

The gals in the raised beds are looking well!

1147.jpg

Yellow Fatalii has a few pods and some color too!

This Manzano is the happiest one I have right now. They're not pleased with the temps.

I finally have a BB7 pod!

1150.jpg

NagaBrain has a few pods too!

1151.jpg

Tobago Treasure has a lot more pods than can be seen in this pic.

The overgrown neglected jungle...we sure have a lot of catching up to do.

I have to take a certain Birthday girl to San Antonio for lunch

For neglected and overgrown, it sure looks mighty nice.

Glad you're back safe and sound. We sure noticed your absence while you were hanging in Vegas.
 Thanks Jeff!

As a fellow note to self person...I'm never visiting all the parents again in one month. Right now I still don't know if I'm coming or going, let alone what time zone I'm in...LOL

The garden is looking great. You'll have her back in shape in no time. Nice BB7 pod. Congrats! Are you still having favorable temps?

Thanks Chuck!

It's crazy this year, the 7 day calls for 92-94° for the highs. That's 5-7° below normal. I'll take it!

We were so ready to be home again. The good thing is we have a few days to get back to normal before work on Monday.

We picked this morning before the San Antonio lunch trip.

All the latest MoA's look like this, I'm de-seeding and freezing them. Hoping to find a killer sauce recipe for them.

Neglected he says, will till you see my garden  That looks awesome, Scott. All happy and in good shape. Is that an bbg7 pod from seeds I've sent you? The calyx looks like it won't be a bleeder I'm afraid :(

Had to edit since I just noticed your huge harvest, great load of pods my friend!

Well we haven't weeded in a few weeks, it really doesn't show so much in the pics. And the bottom half is out of control...I'll be out at sunup ;) .

Yes, from your seeds. That pod's brand new, so I'm hoping it does right!

Beautiful garden Scott!  The neglect must be in another picture you didn't post!  Glad you made it back all safe.  Happy B day to the birthday girl!

It's been threatning to rain some but hasn't for me here the last few days.

Mike

Time will tell my friend, hope the same but it is still an unstable variety I guess. Your plant is F-4.

Shame about the sauce.  Probably took it because its a liquid and you might make a bomb out of it lol.

Garden is looking good.  Really nice.  Are your temps cooler than normal for this time of year?

Excellent looking pull.  I too will be looking for a good sauce recipe.

The tall plants hide the weeds ;)

It's good to be back home for sure. We love our family dearly, but hate the trips there. They just all need to move to God's Country!

I'll pass the B-Day wishes to LB!

Rain? I'm ready for some more!

Vegas was a blast! The cool thing was we only went through 1/3 of the $$$ we brought to gamble. The first two nights totaling close to 16 hours in the casino left us just $70 down. Apply that to a night in a club and we were way ahead! The last 2 nights still went well considering we hit the card tables, and don't know squat...but the dealers were great at this casino. If we were doing the wrong thing they shook their head, or pointed to take more cards. So basically they let the cards work as if we knew what we were doing...can't beat that.

Meeting Walt was a pleasure! He's a really nice person, and I wish him well. We need more young people like him!

I agree, time will tell. And thanks for the seeds! I don't intend to let but a few plants run the full course, as the dirt and me needs a break. I have other things I need to do,like finish the kitchen for the wife. Brownie points are always a good thing!

Yes temps are down a bit, 4 to 7° is a big difference here.

yeah, it sucks they took the sauce, I was looking forward to trying it. Pepper bomb, yeah, I could take the crew out...LOL

But I do understand their rules, whether I like them or not. They're for us.
