Duane's Peppers 2009

Ciao Potawie-

Oh thank you so much for your feedback! This is the first time Duane's really started sorting his pepper varieties into families and some of them are difficult to sort out. I think maybe I put Orange Dulce in the wrong family as well. Is it Chinense or Baccatum?

POTAWIE is right, the purple Jolokia is clearly Annuum and that "Orange Dulce" in the picture appears to be Chinense.

Chocolate Habanero, another one back from the brink of death, growing very slowly

Might wanna hit that guy with some peroxide to kill the mold growing on that soil.

At least it looks like mold from here.

Ciao all-

Update: all of Duane's peppers are doing very well, although he's realized that putting more than one in the same pot is not advised. He's been shoehorning time to divide them and some have gotten extremely rootbound.

The rest of Duane's peppers are annums (photos taken 4 April 09):

Golden Cayenne

Turkish Cayenne

The Cayennes especially are very tall plants and were the first to outgrow the lights. I've made chocolates for Duane with the powder he made from the Golden Cayenne. It's a beautiful pepper and one of my favourites.

nice plants Sorellinan !

just a quick question... i noticed some distorted leaves on the golden Cayenne.. is this a common problem for you ?

if so, what do you do about it ?

i have also posted some pics of my distorted leaves and any input would be great.. Graci, and ciao

Ciao Hotpeppa-

I'm not sure if the ruffled leaves on the Golden Cayenne are anything to concern ourselves with. Part of the reason for me posting these photos is the hope that some of the experts here will weigh in and give feedback on things that don't look good.

Other then a few of those distorted leaves and the yellow one, i would say they look really nice..

very green..

very smooth leaves..

compact...

healthy...

Ciao all-

Duane's finished getting all of his peppers divided and he's got 5 full flats downstairs! Sheesh, time to rein in that guy a bit. I have no idea where the cucurbits and sunflowers are going to go now.

Cubanelle

It's a mystery where the hole in the leaf came from, but there have been no bug sightings and Mario doesn't like the taste of pepper plants

Fish

Smallest bit of variegation showing up on the leaves now

Fresno

Yes, this is one cup

Jalapeno

I'm not sure what's up with these leaves, hopefully this guy grows out of it

Jalapeno040409.jpg

Jalapeno M

Leaves on this guy have been like this since it germinated, any suggestions as to what's going on here?

JalapenoM040409.jpg

Jalapeno Early

Duane has since fed this guy and he's doing much better

JalapenoEarly040409.jpg

As you can see, the Jalapenos are currently having some issues. I'll post the Jalapeno TAM on the next page as I'm only allowed 4 photos per page. We're not sure what's going on with these, but before we do more harm than good by freaking out over it, if any of you have had these issues and were able to remedy it, by all means speak up.

Jalapeno TAM

This one's been fed since the photo was taken and I think it's mostly crowding that has caused it to look a bit anemic

Ciao all-

Remember those small little habs? Here's how they're looking now! Life was touch and go for them not so long ago, but it looks like they're going to be ok now. :)

Beautiful plants and congrats on the two little habs pulling through.

I love the looks of the Explosive Embers, can you tell me anything about it? Taste, heat, days to harvest and any other tidbit you may know?

Thanks.:)
