Fake Pepper X seeds missing

Someone here posted something about the FBI guy threatening people.  I thought what the hell?  Then I started to think about why my wife won't see an Angelina Joli movie with me.  Per wife, she is a Husband Stealing Hussy.  Hobby Lobby is anti-reproductive rights.  Some chicken place is anti-gay but kind of redeemed itself by donating tons of food to the first responders and families after the gay club shooting in florida. Then there are the things that fall our of our presidents mouth when he opens it.

It is not just the pepper business.  You sound like you got the same problem I have.  You are boring.  There are clowns to the left of you, jokers to the right, and there you are... stuck in the middle again.

Y'know, it's funny. I could make a case for my own boringness, but I know a lot of ppl would say I'm not that boring. In person, I can be confrontational, hecklish, trash-talking, and prone to taking on more than I can handle. Truth be told, I have even been known to pull some pranks, from time to time. Thing is, i'm not going to prank anyone who I don't know personally.

Which is probably why I tend to be kinda super-nice and boring on THP. I don't know anyone on here personally, and I know that sarcastic or hecklish remarks typed-out online aren't always going to be received as I've intended. Mr Duffy should've known the same things when he pulled his Pepper X prank on the Internets. And, Mr Currie's family should have taught him right from wrong when he was a kid; that way, he wouldn't be lying and scamming all the time now.

And yes, you're right; BS can be found virtually everywhere, and isn't limited to the chile biz. The thing is, I probably won't post about Angelina anywhere but on thehothussy.com. and I only post about Chik-Fil-A on thehothomophobe.com. I do my best to stick to chile topics on this forum, although I confess that I do talk about Reggae music on here from time to time... =D. =D there's a time and place for everything, I guess, and right now, I feel like the folks who have found themselves in a position to do the most good for the Chile Community have instead decided to drag it down with pranks and dishonest marketing techniques... It's kinda disappointing.

Supporting traditional marriage does not need redeeming, and not sure what any of that bs that you mentioned has to do with Pepper X?

Got no clue what you are talking about.  I quoted Bicycle who observed there is a lot of drama from people in the pepper business.  I gave examples of people and drama in show business, fast food, and retail. I then concluded what he observed is not just in the pepper business.

Redeeming traditional marriage?  What?

Bicycle808, about being disappointed in folk in the business: I became disillusioned with people elsewhere. But I feel about the same.  Only advice I can share is be the good guy.  You might have noticed when PBM is doing well, we have adverts up here for free seeds / free shipping.  Even just participating here and sharing your knowledge changes the state of things.  Participating in seed trains and not leaching everything up for your self is another way.  Believe it or not, you make a difference just being here on THP.

I agree with Duffy that its crap to sell a sauce based on a chilli that is not yet proven to exist.. I think his idea of putting up a fake page for Pepper X seeds just to stir the pot is a bit immature. I dont blame him for thinking of it and feeling that it was deserved but to actually go ahead and do it not only makes a joke of the hobby but also alienates potential customers and makes a fool of some.

Anyone growing this half breed mustard C-3PO that crossed in my garden.

On another note... What is taking so long for Guinness or Ed to release anything official? I'm thinking pepper X is a marketing joke/scam gone too far.

Also, The Last Dab sauce has changed from yellowish green, to orangish red over the last few months. Look on eBay, you see two very different colored sauces for sale.

And now they released a Last Dab reaper edition that is very orangish red, because they ran out of pepper X until next harvest. Seems like a bad idea to use the Last Dab name, without "pepper X" in it. Kinda takes away from that sauce since Last Dab was the name of that sauce with that pepper, not the name of the company or brand.

I hear they are working on a class action lawsuit against the last dab for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It’s gone from green to orange to red depending on the batch.

I’m kinda thinking this pepper is not going to take the record otherwise it would have by now.

Yeah same thoughts here. I think they just used the marketing hype to get sales. Maybe they had one plant/pod that hit those numbers, but were never able to hit numbers that high again

Unless, and this is a stretch, that Guinness is growing the seeds out or having an outside company grow them so they can test them.

Even so, if that was the case, seeds to pods is 6 to 8 months under ideal conditions. If it's been stable since early last year or before that even, that time frame has come and gone. I don't know, I've never dealt with Guinness or had any Pepper's certified, so I guess I would know how long the process takes.

Just seems weird that reaper was announced, certified and released all within a few weeks.

I understand marketing and getting some hype going by annoucing it before release, but you have to release the product at the peak hype, or shortly after. At the point we're at now, the hype has died off and no one in the chilli head community cares about it anymore. But I'm sure at $20 a bottle, they have already made a couple million dollars, so maybe Ed doesn't care anymore... On to the next project/scam they go.
