He is another great guitar player. When I went from my old computer to my new, I formatted the hard drive of the old and was too lazy to burn most of my stuff. A set of Paul covering several Hendrix songs was one of the things that was deleted. At that particular show one of the bands did not show up so he filled their slot with those covers. He obviously put his own spin on the solos...

did see stevie live as a 3 piece at Festival Hall Brisbane before he was famous here. Best live show ever. Deliberately didnt see double trouble (7 pce band at policed new venue few years after)...wanted to remember him soloing with that big scoob hanging out under the hat for first hour :lol: & only about 100 ppl there.

I was just about to ask where all the Bucket fans were. Saw him in 2002 with Guns N' Roses. After his solo in Nightrain, that's when I knew I needed to get a guitar and learn to play.

Six years later, I'm still strictly a rhythm player.
 
I've been playing around 15 years and can only play a fraction of his stuff. I have most albums and I've seen him live a bunch of times. I learned of him the same way, when he played with GnR in Boston and did 15 minutes or so of his own shit and I started buying up his albums after that and going to see him even if it means travelling.

Before dismissing it as easy rubbish consider this

* You have no frets on classical instruments. A difference of 1cm makes a note flat or sharp (I would know cause I play the cello)

* You have to travel bigger distances on the cello than you have to on the guitar AND be more accurate

Thanks CP, that was amazing. IMHO there's nothing as beatiful sounding as a well played classical guitar. If only I could play mine that well.
