Low tonight is -2 high tomorrow is 11. Saddest part is thats quite a bit warmer than we have seen over the last month. I was sitting in a hotel lobby about a month ago when it was -30 outside and this woman from south texas was there chatting with me scared out of her mind to go outside, was too funny. She said she had never seen 0 degrees before.
 
You guys suck -- Snow coming our way again I just chipped the last 3" off my driveway yesterday ! Crazy weather though 45 yesterday 40 something today and then snow on Tuesday and Wednesday -- I may shoot the ground hog today -- depending on his shadow of course
 
Hey it's just as nice here in Florida.....except for that damn front that came through and thoroughly soaked my ass on my bike ride in to work this morning.....but, we do need the rain.
 
We had our annual "Grind the city to a halt" winter storm last week. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, then about six inches of snow. Lows below zero for a day. Yesterday was nice and sunny, low 40s and today isn't looking bad.

Ideally, this snow will melt slowly and seep deep into the soil.

3 weeks ago we had a cold wave. Minimums over -4 F/ -20 C. New record in 13 years here in Holland. Too bad we didn't have a "elfstedentocht" :D.

Minimums now are around 23 at night.
 
I was moving to another house this weekend carrying all the furniture and about 150 cardboard boxes full of books and CDs and DVDs and dishes and stuff and crap at about 28°F and sweating my ass off in the chilly wind.
 
well IMO its not that bad right now, since the temps are above zero F, while we had some short periods of below freezing (0 F) before.
I find us still having a warm winter than decades ago.

the way I see it is, our cold temps keep dangerous animals/insects/etc... away, all we need to worry about is a woodtick/mosquito/ or a bear/wolf depending on where you live here.
then we can always just put another layer of clothes on to keep warm, what about you when its too F'ing hot ? take your skin off ? but that'd defeat the cooling process for your body!
then we also dont have to deal with the crappy freezing rain like some of you, I'll take cold & snow over having to deal with freezing rain that freezes everything & makes travel dangerous & can knockout power.

so while you're dieing of the heat & drought & dodging dangerous creatures in the summertime. we are chilling comfortablly with no cares in the world.

so I guess we can also say

well bent it depends on the person, I would say hot temps all year round w/o snow is a shitty place to live! you gotta remember not everything is so great living in a warmer zone ;)
you can have fun with snow just like any other season! & freezing is all in your head, if you dress properly then you stay nice & warm.

& who says we cant enjoy some swimming in the winter!? though I would NOT do this!!

yeah CH, but some of us just don't like the cold...I get cold enough down here in Texas...
 
& some of us HATE the hot temps! anything over 75F I HATE!!!!! perfect temps are in the high 60's low 70's F
heck I'll wear shorts & T-shirt outside when its only in the 40's (of course not for long periods of time) but I also do it for very short periods of time when below 32F
on a sunny 50F its T-shirt & short weather all day long IMO
 
Batten down the hatches boys, its going to be a cold one. Wind chill dipping into the double negatives.

Global warming can lick my frozen peppers.
