Foxprorawks' 2009 Pictures

Hi,

I'm a new member here, so please be gentle with me.

I posted these pics on another forum, but thought I'd share them here.

This is my first year at growing chillis (or anything, really), but I've certainly got the bug!

Peach Habanero - I've got a few of these. Grown from seed.

Lantern - again, I've got a few of these, but this is the biggest. Grown from seed.

We think this is an Apache. I originally had 4 of them, bought as a pack of "Veg U Grow" seedlings in Tesco. I've given two away to friends, because I've ended up with so many plants.

Here's a chilli on the plant - about an inch long.

Considering I live in a top floor flat in Glasgow, and haven't used any specialist lighting, I think I'm doing pretty well. Beginners luck is a great thing.

I've got quite a few more - I only planted so many because I didn't expect to have much success.

Hopefully, the forecast is right and we'll all have a long hot summer (although the past week has been pretty dismal in Glasgow).

your plants look gorgeous and very healthy...good luck in your first growing season...

Hello again! Think you're right about it being an Apache - I've got 2 on the go and they look very similar to yours, only a lot smaller.

They look great. What sort of temps are you getting over there at the moment, and what kind of light/sun setup you have going if i may ask?

It's quite a nice day today - temp is around 13°C outside. Quite sunny.

I don't have any light setup - just have the plants on windowsills around the flat.

Looks like you're off to a great start! I'm a first timer myself and the folks on this site have helped more than I could have imagined. By the look of your plants some of us might be asking you for tips!

Some more pictures.

A trio of Demon Reds, all grown from seed. I presume these stay quite small.

Jalapeno. Grown from seed. I somehow managed to overwater this one, and it was in a terrible state. However, I think I've managed to save it.

Cayenne. Grown from seed.

You are doing great. I would get the Apache into a larger pot though.

I might do that this weekend.

I have two of those, both that size. The other one has less pods, and quite a lot of the buds are dropping off.

Is this a sign it should be re-potted?

Hello - fancy meeting you here :)

The Apaches grew quite fast for me, so it shouldn't be long until yours are all grown up.

I've just signed up here, but I've been reading this forum (and a couple of others) for a few months.

It's a great resource.

However, growing chillis is proving to be addictive ;)
