This "new fuel" is hard on small engines so if the carburetor isn't free of fuel while being stored for 6+ months, it will gum up and not run the following year. A new carburetor is about $108. Running it out of gas wont get it all out though. On my outboard there is a screw at the bottom of the float bowl you unscrew to get it all out. I imagine most modern small engines have that feature now, although I know nothing about snow plows. Its that old gas in the bowl that makes it hard to start after sitting a season. I believe its the methanol they put in gas now that corrodes and gums up carbs when they sit.
