off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Good morning, everyone. The new snow toy is assembled and ready for our supposed many inches of snow. We'll see how right the forecasters are.

I love the quietness of snow falling, just not driving with those who don't know how to drive in it.

Enjoy your day, stay warm, and drive safely.

Good morning everyone, S.M.I.L.E. and appreciate another wonderful day :D

Mmmmmmmm Coffee

Good morning.  The cold of winter returned with a vengeance overnight, and it is currently sitting at 17 degrees outside.  But no snow as of yet.  All of the lake effect is dumping down about 25 miles to the south of us.

I feel ripped off.

Well, it's still morning but no longer early.
Deliveries are done for the day, holiday rush is over, things about to settle down again for a bit :)

After weeks of sorting through all my seeds during spare time, i think i have narrowed it down to what i'm going to grow this year and ready to sow more
going to be lots of Pubes this year :D  Less superhots, more frying and roasting peppers ( Jimmy Nardello, Shishito, Hatch, Red Footlong, etc. )

anyway, Good morning everyone, hope your all having a wonderful day !

Moar Coffee!

Nice cathrinew! I was wondering if it was that or a Ski-doo variety toy. LOL
Just a word of warning (if I may)... never NEVER stick your hands in there to clean the auger or impeller. A very good friend of mine lost two fingers from a snowblower. It was turned OFF, but was in between cylinder strokes. When the compression turned the engine crank, it spun the auger and, whamo. They usually come with clean out "sticks" now. Use it! If you MUST put your arms in there, remove the spark plug, thusly removing any mid-stroke compression in the piston cylinder.

Enjoy that thing tho, they are FUN!!!

Word of warning heeded - growing up my mother cleaned the snow from the small machine and had 2 fingers re-attached. I learned quite a bit from this, so I will not even come close to the 'snow toy' when it's running.

I'll remind the operator to remove the spark plug to remove the compression in the piston cylinder. Thanks for that warning. We only have about 6+ inches of snow at the moment, so the snow toy may just get used when it stops snowing and hubby is home from work. (now to find the spark plug)!

I've caught all kinds of crap in mine, string, twigs, bailing wire and dead weeds. It does require hand cleanup once in awhile but the common mistake is that people think that because it's shut off, not even idling that it's safe to put your hands in there, not knowing about the hidden compression. My buddy writes a letter to the paper every year reminding everyone of that fact.

Didn't mean to derail the thread but I just wanted to post the warning. They seem harmless when shut off but, they're not!

 <--- more coffee!

Oh, one more thing (stettoman reminded me) It's a good idea at the end of the year to run ALL of the fuel out of it. Letting it idle until it runs out of gas. This "new fuel" is hard on small engines so if the carburetor isn't free of fuel while being stored for 6+ months, it will gum up and not run the following year. A new carburetor is about $108. Ask me how I know. LOL
