off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Good morning.  It's 70 on its way to 96.  We're under a heat advisory.  Light meeting schedule today.  Not much else happening.  Hunkered down out in the country.  We'll dig more potatoes this evening.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. First day in July with predicted temps not in the 90s, nice day to relax. Will check out whether the currants are ripe, and then make some sort of jam.  Pickled beets first.

Have a great day and stay healthy.

Good morning.  It's 81 on its way to 84.  Rain in progress.  The forecast is for rain on/off all day.  We need it.  Moderate meeting schedule today.  Dug 3 boxes of potatoes last evening and we still have more to dig.  Picked some nice superhots yesterday too. Mostly yellows ..... several varieties. Also picked a few nice Bonnets. I wish the tomatoes would start ripening.  Not much else happening.  Be safe and be good.

Ended up walking 12 miles yesterday, that's are furthest walk so far. Bike ride and chores. I need to start cutting some 0lants back and adding more fertilizer. Got to go to the shop today to convert some wheels so they will fit on my gravel grinder and put a new chain ring on Sonya's gg. Hope everyone is having a great week. Good morning.

Good morning everyone. Beautiful day yesterday with a high of 80*F and intermittent rain. Today should be similar, and then back to the July 90s. Yesterday was pickled beets and digging a few iris before the rains. Today will hopefully be the currants. Lots more iris to divide. Enjoy your day and stay healthy. It’s sad to see a few of my favorite restaurants closed for good.

Bike ride with the wife then mowing. Definitely will have to wash bikes as its wet out. Need advise on growing garlic, Catherine seems to have it down. I'm sure I need to wait until it cools down. Have a wonderful day and good morning.

In EU, I planted garlic in early November and harvested late spring/early summer. Winters brought some frost, but seldom brutal temperatures. But since you are in Florida (yes?), "cold" might not be really cold :) I have been searching for basic information regarding growing garlic in tropical climates and found this interesting article.

The following image is a screenshot from Tindall's Vegetables in the Tropics (p. 28) and might be of interest.

Good morning btw... ;)

Good morning.  It's 69 on its way to 87.  Busy meeting schedule today.  I have tomorrow off so I'm thinking about shutting down early today.  Shooting for mid afternoon.  I think I'll mow/trim this afternoon/evening.  It takes me approx. 3.5 hours.  Grilling and adult beverages after that.  Fishing tomorrow AM.   I expect the rest of the weekend will be consumed with chores.  The "to do" list is getting long again.

Last evening we harvested a bucket of Jalapenos.  Looking forward to having some poppers this weekend.  We also picked a bucket of other assorted annuums and a few more super hots.  The blackberries are still coming on strong.  Its been a great year for all of the berries.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. Today will be the last of the free moisture and cooler temps for a long while. Sic - up here in the cold we grow hardneck garlic which needs the cold. I could always send you some to try, but you might be better growing softneck garlic. The cloves are smaller, lots of them in a head, and they stay fresher longer after they’re dried. Now is the time to seek them out before they’re all sold out. Time to start digging out more sedum before it gets too hot outside.

Sic- if you’re ready to grow your own garlic, you’ll love the fresh flavor right out of the garden. When mine are done drying I’ll send some your way. I don’t grow softneck so check out a farmers market close by. There are a lot of people on THP that can help with growing garlic.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Stay healthy and wear those masks.

Thank you Catherine I would love some! I'm studying up, going to be garlic central here. Bike ride with a buddy then getting peppers picked for a local. Need to go look at a chainsaw job this afternoon. Bless up have a great day and good morning.

Good morning everyone. Fertilizing/watering at the CG this AM, then we’re off for a family visit to the cooler mountains. Busy day ahead.

Sic - I’ll let you know when the garlic is completely dry, probably by August 1.

Have a great day and share the bounty with others. Stay safe and healthy.

Good morning everyone. Beautiful weather in the mtns. - at least 25*F cooler than home. Picked up a few free rocks to add to the rock garden, with plans to pick up a few more in the coming weeks. It looks like a relaxing day with a high of 98*.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay healthy.

Headed to Fort Myers for the day. Father in law wants to talk to us. Wife rescued a kitten the other day so there's that. Unfortunately people feel like our wooded lot is a dumping ground, pigs! Have a wonderful day and good morning.

Good morning.  It's 80 on its way to 95.  The heat in the afternoons has been very uncomfortable.  We need some rain.  Running some errands this morning.  We've been cleaning up Iris beds the last 3 days.  Going to spread gravel in the beds up by the road this afternoon.  I need to do some work paperwork this evening.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was 99*F, today close to that. We’re waiting for the promised rains that will probably float over us, on the way to Harry. Picked a few broccoli heads, gave 2 away to passers by and kept one for dinner. Time to pick more summer squash for the grill.

Harry, ask your wife if she wants to trade any iris? I have some pretty ones.

Have a wonderful day and stay healthy.

Good morning.  It's 70 on its way to 85.  Its raining right now and it's forecasted to rain on/off for the next two days.  Pretty sore from hauling/spreading gravel.   Light meeting schedule today but lots of preparation for a big review tomorrow.  Not much else happening.  Be safe and be good.

Good morning everyone. No rain, no hail. Still working on the landscaping projects a little at a time. Life gets in the way. We had grilled veggie tacos for dinner last night. Nice to have dinner from the he garden.

Have a wonderful day and remember loved ones. Stay healthy.
