You shouldn't regret commenting. I think everyone should be able to have their say - if Ted wants to make a big dog & pony show out of his exit, it invites responses.
I agree - he doesn't have to be a reviewer. But there are folks who work at it - and I see it less as "attention grabbing" as providing a service. Doing a legitimate review takes a lot of work. Rating products is something people should take seriously - after all, a bad rating could mean economic harm to someone in it for more than a hobby.
Sauce makers have "skin in the game" as the expression goes. As such I think reviewers should be held to a high standard.
As for Ted, that was just my issue with him, and only because I saw him calling himself that to deliberately piss people off.
I actually enjoyed his videos for the "fear factor" aspect and was never actually mad at him, and I certainly don't "hate" him or anyone else here at THP.
That said, I do see how his schtick rubbed people the wrong way - like "look at meeeee!" topics with no real point posted in all caps. And then when they told him it rubbed them the wrong way, Ted's angle was to get super belligerent with them.
I'm also new here - these are just my observations of this. I didn't see the last topic as a lynch mob so much as an action/reaction. If you're going to yell fire in a crowded movie house you Gould be prepared for a myriad of reactions.
I thought the poll was way over the top & inappropriate as it was a personal attack on another member. My $0.02
