GOODBYE HOTPEPPER

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hey I decided that I'm going to stop posting here and leave this forum for good.To anyone that wants to stay in contact you know how to reach me. I cant keep playing nice when so many people here just want to fight with me and put me down. All I want to do is have a good time and share the burn. You will never win with me I will continue to do what I'm doing and keep making great videos. I enjoy this hobby and I love the pepper industry and I know what I do brings more people in to this hobby. I say goodbye and I wish you the best and hope you grow some amazing peppers.

It is too bad there are haters on this forum that caused you to leave. Enjoyed your videos and antics. Good luck ted with all your future burns.

Dont worry about the haters man. I'm in the same boat as you. I was recently booted from a website that I helped start. I got booted because people didnt like what I had to say.
You're gonna have jackasses that hate you. Just let them worry about being jackasses, and you worry about being "The Idiot." Lol

Even the hate brings publicity. You are enough to get their attention. If someone truly disliked it they would ignore it not continue to slam it. Either way hope all gpes well in the future for ya.

My 1st board suicide. Fascinating.

FWIW Ted, most peole didnt tell you to leave. I for one said you aren't a reviewer - as evidenced by your videos. And I stand by that. I think you want to be, but you're not. What you do isn't a review, it's a "challenge". In fact I never saw you call yourself a reviewer until a reviewer told you he didn't like your style. I saw you describe yourself as such to be deliberately beligerant to them (and then contintue to use it as a dig, like by signing "your fellow reviewer,")

I find it interesting that in the last topic you were so adamant about staying. Now you abruptly leave with an attention-grabbing headline. If I were to leave a website, I'd just stop posting there. Takes way more effort this way, no? but then you run the chance of no one noticing I guess. This way you can play "victim", since you noticed the topic locked. Even people here saying there were "haters that made you leave" - which sort of ignores the topics you posted in all caps that grated on some folks in the 1st place, and the obnoxious attitude you took with them. Just some observations.

Nice "look at meeeeeeeeee, goodbye cruel world" dramatic exit.

I know im new to this whole scene and dont want to go making enemies.... Atleast not until i have milked you all for all of your knowledge!!! But..... I have really enjoyed the last two months at this forum and enjoy reading everybodies stuff and points of view.... Anyhow i dont see why everyone is bashing ted. He is not a reviewer... True is does these challenges for entertainment. both for himself and for those that watch him. Ive never seen an educational disclamer at the beginning of his stuff. Also arent most of the "real reviewers" also seeking attention? i mean i watch paul and watch freestylerolla and the others. And i get different things from each. But the only reason anyone post a video is because they want people to watch it... IE attention... I know i will regret posting this but needed to speak my peice...
Ps freestylerolla makes awesome videos and am enjoying watching his growlog. NC!

You shouldn't regret commenting. I think everyone should be able to have their say - if Ted wants to make a big dog & pony show out of his exit, it invites responses.

I agree - he doesn't have to be a reviewer. But there are folks who work hard at it - and I see it less as "attention grabbing" as providing a service. Doing a legitimate review takes a lot of work. Rating products is something people should take seriously - after all, a bad rating could mean economic harm to someone in it for more than a hobby.

Sauce makers have "skin in the game" as the expression goes. As such I think reviewers should be held to a high standard.

As for Ted, that was just my issue with him, and only because I saw him calling himself that to deliberately piss people off.

I actually enjoyed his videos for the "fear factor" aspect and was never actually mad at him, and I certainly don't "hate" him or anyone else here at THP.

That said, I do see how his schtick rubbed people the wrong way - like "look at meeeee!" topics with no real point posted in all caps. And then when they told him it rubbed them the wrong way, Ted's angle was to get super belligerent with them.

I'm also new here - these are just my observations of this. I didn't see the last topic as a lynch mob so much as an action/reaction. If you're going to yell fire in a crowded movie house you should be prepared for a myriad of reactions, many of them negative. No one invited me to comment in that other topic except Ted himself.

I thought the poll was way over the top & inappropriate as it was a personal attack on another member. My $0.02

quality post! well put.

He'll be back.
Without an audience he's nothing. There may be other sites, but this one has the largest and most informed users. Even idiots like to be critiqued by knowlegeable individuals.

No, he blocks anyone who tries to give their opinion, or give credible facts. It appears he wants an audience and a constant pat on the back, not knowledge

Good luck Ted. I don't hate you, I just don't understand you

First off i never enjoyed watching any of his videos or and absurd challenge videos. What i enjoy id some one doing a true review noting flavor, heat. Time heat builds excetra we all know what a true review is and what he was doing is not reviewing. But m biggest issue with what he was doing was claiming to review but never did a real review. There are people looking for what he does. But the way he went about doing what he did rubbed me the wrong way at times.

I debated on commenting and was not going to, but I do have a couple things to say. First of all, Ted, I do not dislike you. I don't particularly care for everything you say and do, but you are free to do so. As far as calling yourself a reviewer, I disagree with that expressly. I spend hours working on a single review because I feel I owe it to the manufacturers and to all of you here that I give you the best representation of the sauce and its uses. I don't just turn on a camera and say whatever comes to mind. I focus on all aspects of the peppers and sauces, not just challenging myself to see how hot or how much I can handle. Now, that being said, I have done these challenges myself. I generally just do it alone or with a friend, and only once posted a video. That is not to knock what you do, it is entertaining, but it is not a review at least in the sense that I do them. If you do decide to leave, I wish you the best. I do respect your intentions of sharing peppers with the world, I just think maybe you should step back and look at how you portray yourself. You came here like a ball of fire and almost immediately started calling people haters. If you act the way you do and say the things you say, you are asking to be controversial. Not everyone is going to like you. You say you don't care, but then you threaten to leave. I don't get that. Anyway, I have said my peace. I am sorry if I did or said anything inappropriate. Good luck to you.

Ummmmm....bye I guess then. Just remember above all else:

Remember this one very important fact...
There are a lot of decaffinated brands on the market today that are just as tasty as the real thing!

C-ya

Hmm. Given his name (Ted the firebreathing idiot) and his videos, I'm confused. I don't understand why he would get so upset, but I guess I'm new around here.

Anyway, goodbye Ted.

two "goodbye thp" threads in how long? 2 months?
