greetings from Belgium !!

Hello Everybody,

My name is Jan, 35y and living in Belgium, and recently signed in to this site, because
I love chili, the more spicy the better for me, although eating a Bhut Jolokia is something
I never tried... :mouthonfire:
What more can I say...I live in Belgium, the land of beers and chocolate...but
unfortunately also the land where the weather is most of the times quite shitty...
and yes...we still have no government...
My goal for 2011 is to be able to grow my own chili plants, but since I have no experience
in this, maybe some of you can help me out on this. Which types can I grow in a country
where temperature in summertime nearly never exceeds 25°C and in winter it can be -5°C...
Guess will need to grow them inside...
Anyway, many thanks already for reading this (and perhaps replying) and hopefully
by the end of 2011 I will have some nice results...
I'll have my apero now, nearly dinner time...

BYE!!

:welcome:

Is that part of Flemish, Belgium? Do you know Herve' Joseph? He lives over in Bossiere.

You could probably grow anything but you'd have to start it indoors early. Pubescens actually like colder weather. They're grown in the Andes.

Yes, well actually of my wife. We stayed at his house once. Kind of confusing having to read both French and Flemish at the same time (actually trying not to get lost in the Flemish). :)

Welcome from Austin Texas.

Welcome from New York!! My grandma grew up in Belgium and left after WWII, she has some awesome stories of hiding soldiers in caves and hiding children at her house in the "counrty", since they had to leave their house in the city once "the germans came" ... I will visit there one day...

anyway, welcome :o)

Hello Nicole,
Yes many people left Europe during or after WWII, who wouldn't... wasn't exactly a nice place to live in those days...
Luckily times have changed... :)
What is her name if I may ask?
Anyway, always welcome in our tiny country. Nice piece of chocolate and a cold beer are wating for you...
