Okay back on topic. moyboy's grinding.

That is a nice looking machine in that link THP, but I'd guess at that price we'd be paying upwards of $200AU here. Moyboy - I was lucky enough to get a Delonghi cheap, saw them in Harvey Norman for $60 and said "sod that for a chilli grinder", went next door to the Harvey Norman clearance centre, and they were selling exact same machine for $30. Thankyou very much. If you're looking to grind all your spices as you need them for individual meals the coffee grinder will be more than ample for the task. I think I filled up 4 of the 25gm spice shakers with each grind.

I've used my under $10 grinder for at least 6 years and the blade is just starting to dull. With large batches I often start with my cuisinart mini chopper to break down the bulk, and then into the cheapo grinder for fine powder

I'm not saying that a coffee grinder won't do the job but I have just had a bad experience with my one......It was a very cheap coffee grinder (under $20) but it will only grind dried chillis down to nothing better than small flakes.

Now if I was to put my spices in it (some of which are whole dried berries like allspice) I think it would be a pointless exercise.....

That's why I'm looking to get something that states it's designed for spices..

Just my 2 cents

Again, Moyboy why not look at something versatile like the magic Bullet? AJ, HPFF and myself, to name a few all rave about it and it's versatility. I just personally have a hard time spending over $100 for something and then only be limited to one use.

Here check them out if your a bit curious. http://www.buythebullet.com/

BTW, you can find them on Amazon.com for $55 or Walmart for $54. To me you end up getting way more machine for your money.

Just my 2 cents.....

Nope

Just it is the most impressive kitchen appliance I have ever bought and am just trying to convey that to Moyboy who seems in need. I know he wouldn't be disappointed and he could save some $$.
