contest Growdown Throwdown 2014 Tallest plant

I been UA for a bit...sorry about that. Don't see me catching Kevin. My water system failed while I was out of town a couple times and she took a little hit. Her roots are solid though and she survived...probably for a second or third place show.

Here's my Chuncho last two weeks ago. Gotta get some more pictures! Not going to be the tallest, but she's pumping the pods. Thousands.
Brewed up some composted chicken manure tea just after this shot and she's responded quite well. Will update soon :)

Yo Rich,
How much chicken manure per gallon of water are you using for your tea?  I used 2 cups per gallon this season.  Unlike yourself, I have to buy my chicken manure, but, it's relatively cheap @ $3 per 25lb bag.  I will be amending my garden this Fall with the chicken manure and alfalfa meal.

My ratios are far from scientific, but depending on the smell and how long the manure has been composting/converting, A couple of shovel fulls per 10 gallons usually works pretty well for me.

That plant is beautiful. Good shape, tons of fruit.

I also use chicken manure, as I have chickens - and I also am not extremely scientific with it.

Sometimes I don't even compost it, just sprinkle very little amounts and mix in to the top inch or so of the soil, that way it breaks down in the pot to enhance bacterial activity. But you have to be extremely careful when doing that, as chicken manure is super hot.
