Have a safe trip Devv, Where in SC?

edit: PT

Thanks,

Headed for Murrels Inlet, and then Myrtle Beach. Mom and then Dad in that order. Mom's place is just 2 single rows of houses off the ocean. Looking forward to getting away from the rat race.

Been as busy as a one legged man in a ass whooping contest, canning and drying produce.

Today's blurry pic. I'm too tired to redo...LOL 4AM starts, eh?

edit: these turned overnight!

You mean green pods?

Yes, and some that have started to turn red as well.

Some of mine are doing the exact same thing. Even ones that are still partially green. I intend to harvest green though cuz I think they taste better but it's still weird nonetheless

That may be a good idea. I need to try a
green one to see how it is.

My pods are drying out on the plant before getting ripe.
Dont know if I will bother weighing them or not.

Ive noticed that mine do that when they are thirsty, since getting all this rain theyre filling out better. Just saying

That I haven't seen in these plants. I have seen them go super mushy if left on too long, like a frutescens. The original pheno was really good at drying whole, however. Very interesting.

Still, please don't let that discourage you from weighing! That would be sad! Maybe try what GPR said? I don't know your current irrigation schedule, obviously. Weird.

I do know of many annums that dry on the plant though. TML, Rooster Spur, Orange Thai, etc

Hey, Rich. I will definitely weigh them. I cleaned off
the plant yesterday in hopes of spurring more
flowering and pod-setting. Pic to follow...

Side note: I tried a green pod. Very tasty and a
nice mild heat. A unique flavor, almost had a
back hit like an Aji Amarillo. That kind of 'dusty'
overtone... don't know how else to describe it.

Here's what I'm talking about. Just picked these 10 minutes ago. Plants look amazingly healthy and get plenty of water. Temps in the 80s. I dont think I've ever had pods do this before.

Oh mine aren't doing that. They just lose the natural firmness that they have when they are green. I guess Guru described it best as "getting mushy".

So with that said, I feel you have defective plants and they need to be tossed...just sayin'  And remember, I'm always here to help ;)

BTW:

It seems now that every day a few turn ripe...

Edit: highs from 95-100° lately here..

'Dusty'.. Did you wash your pepper thoroughly before eating?

j/k

Haha, Sai!

It is kind of a sensation more than a flavor

This is soooo weird! Before they even ripen?! Crazy.

Don't worry guys... These 2 are late bloomers. Haven't pulled a pod off one of them yet. Still waiting to decide which is gonna be winner of growdown 2019.

That Puna Miris on the left getting red looks great, as for the other plants, better throw them out...I see a lot of cancer there. You don't want that. Besides who wants pods that dry before they ripen anyway?
