Growing Chiles in HEL - 2020

So this is it folks, I've recovered my password and bought 10 seedlings today from Jukka "Fatalii" Kilpinen. Didn't start any of my own seeds due to laziness, though I still might start some to sell.

Pubescens
--------------
3 x Rocoto Marlene
2 x Big Brown
1 x Mini Rocoto
1 x Costa Rica

Annuum
---------------
1 x Jalapeno Early

Baccatum
------------------
1 x Lemon Drop

Chinense
-------------------
1 x Fatalii

Photos coming tomorrow when I clean the junk out of my sauna and establish the grow room again.

Nice canopy shot in photo #1!

Pretty incredible growth, Mika. The
sauna is getting full-up!

Thanks, Paul. Problem now is that they are growing so fast that I will have to increase watering+feeding from every other day to once or even twice a day. I really don't want to pot them up before plant-out and there is still maybe 2 weeks to go.

Just wait for the root shots during pot up :-)

As I always say, you are a victim of your
own success, Mika!

The weather has taken a turn for the better and it looks like plant-out has arrived early. At least the rocotos will go into the big boxes tomorrow and maybe even a few into the pots.

Yes, I think summer has arrived a few weeks early this year :-)

Heck yes summer!  Back yard's looking good for it.

Good to see Ace is doing his kettlebells, too. ;)

He'll be dragging that kettlebell behind him when we go out on walks in less than a year from now. It's 16kg, so should be the same as his adult weight. Pound for pound, a Bull Terrier is the strongest dog in the world. I have no doubt that he could pull it behind him for 10-15 minutes - perfect way to build muscle.

Summer - it's still possible to get down to less than 5 degrees during the first week of June but the forecast now says that we should actually be closer to the scientific definition of thermal summer (median temp of 10c for 10 consecutive days). Regardless, the rocotos are too big now and they are dropping leaves because the 2,5l pots can't hold enough water. They are going outside at some point today but I'm sort of exhausted as I have been crate training a pup for three nights in a row now.

I had no idea this was a thing. :D

Gorgeous pooch! Sucks about the crate training woes, but it'll be worth it.

Oh, he's a piece of cake with crate training. I used the Chinese guy's (pawvlogs) method and it was over before the first night even arrived. Only time he makes a peep in the crate is when he is either thirsty or needs to go out to pee or poop. But since he's a growing pup, he needs to get out to chug down water and go outside to do his business every three hours or so during the night. He's pretty much house trained already as well - smart as hell, this dog.

Very nice! I had a pit bull a long time ago, and crate training him was massively painful. Instant separation anxiety. Incredibly sweet dog, but very, uh, selective with this attention span...

This guy made a series of 6 videos crate training his Cane Corso. He is the best I've ever seen - a true master.

Great portrait of Ace!

Look at those feet

Yeah his front paws are actually larger than his back paws. He already weighs like 11 lbs. Carrying him in my arm while my wife is walking the other two on their leashes gonna have my biceps larger by the time his vaccinations are done and active.
