M1 Carbine / 10/22 M1 Clone

I had fun doing a simple M1 Carbine clone conversion of a 10/22.
Even fitted a M1 mag to a 10/22 mag to complete the look.

Just put this together from parts. Used the same barreled action as in the video. At max load it shoots a 300gr bullet right around 2100fps. Got a deal on the Vortex scope too. $200 shipped to my door.

Just added a jeweled bolt and checked it for headspace.

I take it the glass is a Vortex Diamondback HP?
$200. is pretty fair for that line/model.

I've several Vortex Scopes and RDS, been very happy with them.

DiamondBack HP 3x12x42 with side focus. You can still buy one at Sportsmans for $200 shipped. Almost got a Razor HD LH 2x10x40 instead for $480 but i wanted the barrel more than the scope. A complete Mountaineer 45 1-20 twist is about a grand but i had most the parts needed to build one.

Price went up $200 from what it was a couple weeks ago. This is still a good deal though for a Razor HD

If i go more target/fun oriented i will grab a SWFA SS 12x42 mil-Quad later. They are crazy tough scopes with great tracking for only $299.

Never been accused of "theming" something to death... haha! Santa Claus was good to this ol' boy for Christmas. Another piece for the collection.. I've got "The Judge" and now I've got the "Circuit Judge" by Rossi. 410/45 long Colt. Today at the range with FMJ 45 LC cowboy rounds at 25 yds. A great shooter! Squeezed off maybe 30 rds, no complaints save for my lifelong habit in "pulling right."  It gets me more often than not. Every shot was aimed dead center at particular target, I put paper tape crosses for more refined shots, hard to see but there is one on bottom spine. Good gun.

It will take years to complete the collection. There remains the "Public Defender", the "Governor" and great goodness just today saw the "Raging Judge."
