Guru's Garden - Traveling the World in Search of Peppers

Just starting this glog now so it's one less thing to do in a few months when I'm knee deep in compost and getting things in the ground.

Not much to report at the moment. Strains yet to be determined, but I'll probably end up growing too many like always...lol

Only thing that's going on right now is a clean back patio and the chickens doing their part turning over my compost pile on the daily. Intersted in seeing how the soil microbes appreciate the added chicken poop!

Hope everyone has had a decent winter so far and here's to happy germination!

EDIT UPDATE: This glog has turned into an ongoing overwintering, greenhouse and soil building how-to!

Next year, baby!! That's me next year....If I remember to set my deer traps, that is...

Really beautiful, Rich, you're headed for a well-seasoned winter!

Wow, what a giant pile of pods! Great job!

I notice the plate full of charapitas there as well. I'm sure it took forever to harvest to harvest all of those charapitas! That's why I didn't grow aji charapita this year, harvesting all of them is such a PITA.

^ +1. Outstanding harvest! You've done a lot of work. I miss big hauls. Mine have slowly been trickling in. Not a very productive year for me. But you're killing it, Rich! Awesome! [emoji1303]
Your hauls have been grand Adam don't unestimate what you have produced this season.
Some of the best pods iv seen. [emoji6] [emoji106]

Anyway its time for another adventure! This time Costa Rica. We leave out Friday evening. Last time I was there I forgot to bring back local pepper varieties so this time I'm bringing the wife and we are going to find all the peppers we can to harvest seeds from. Will report back with findings soon!

Thanks! Ya know, thats a hard question but the varieties that get grown in the garden each year, consistently, are asian annums and peruvian chinense. I couldn't imagine a season without fresh Rooster Spur and some type of white chinense. If I had to say, probably Fatalii is my all time favorite, but my side chick is yellow 7 pod.

Thanks man! She plays like a dream. I've been writing stuff on it already, messing around here and there and once you get going, she just takes you there. Like being on autopilot.

We got back stateside last night from costa rica. I'll do an update on that and the garden here in the next few days.

Hope everyone's season is going well. The garden needs picking BAD
