Roasted pumpkins...   It's so darned easy to make pumpkin puree... just cut one in half and scoop out the pulp and seeds, sprinkle the inside with half a tsp of salt and roast until done when pierced with a knife, then scoop the flesh out and puree. No waste this way either.

It's a cold, wet rainy day here, and I made 3 gallons of Beef 3-Bean Chili for a fund-raising chili cook-off this afternoon. It's not a blind taste test, and everybody is encouraged to bring as many friends as possible so the voting results are skewed, but it's a fun day out for a good cause and a great Zydeco band to dance/listen to while the event's running.
