Good to hear!! I'm a crazy chilli chef and end up with some interesting results :P I've been checking on my seedlings like I have OCD and get excited over little things like leaves sprouting so I hope that doesnt make me too crazy!!

I just need more people to sample my cooking!! I have a few guys at work that will taste my sauces but my husband is a bit of a wimp when it comes to chilli :P He thought my poppers were a bit too hot!! Might have had something to do with the fact that by the time I did the last one was a bit tipsy and didnt clean out all the seeds.. whooops :shocked:


ps: they weren't that hot!!
 
Don't worry mate we will have you making poppers with habs soon. Get your hubby to try those! :lol:

If i give him habs I think he'll kill me!! could be interesting though.. I took a hab over to one of the guys next door and all all he had was a slice and he was drinking milk like there was no tomorrow (in between threats of killing me!)..

I'll get some good pics tomorrow, but at the moment the plants i have are jalepeno's, habaneros (melt downs), thai chilli, zimbabwe bird, cayennes, a random 'red hot chilli' which is some kind of Frutescens, scotch bonnets, pequin, a purple tiger, a peter pepper (couldnt help myself!) and I have some very little seedlings for Bhut's, Red Habanero's, Jamaican Scotch Bonnets and Red Scotch Bonnets..

The Jal has about 40 pods on it atm.. and I'm getting close to a scotch bonnet being ripe, just turning a nice shade of yellow.. had a few habs and the thai, zimbabwe and red hot chilli have been producing copious amounts of chilli!

Welcome from South Carolina! I have been growing for years and I still check my seedlings every hour or so. It's just part of the addiction.:lol:

Hiya Mel from WA, The best chilli plants I have ever grown were planted January, over wintered( in a nice warm spot) and then allowed to grow out next spring.

Good to hear Marc, makes me feel a bit better about them.. I just need to make some room somewhere for them so the frost doesnt get them. I've got more than 25 seedlings poking through so hopefully most of them last the distance..

Hi Mel

Welcome from Perth. To overwinter your plants if you don't want to build a greenhouse you can buy these little plastic pop up tents from Bunnings with zips. They work great, just remember to open the zips on warm days and let a bit of airflow through. I have about 7 and my back lawn looks very funny in winter. The others I have in shade houses and most of them survive and the rest are under a patio and were still fruiting this winter! So you should e right. Good luck.
P.S your sauce looks nice too and I'm contemplating changing our dinner from Carbonara Pasta to Jalapeno poppers.
