Looks tasty! I was gonna do some Spicey fudge too but had to shelve it this year. Next season...

I stop at the end of December only because I watch how much sugar I take in as Diabetes runs in the family and I have a massive sweet tooth.  I allow myself homemade chocolates in December, a birthday cake on mine and my mom's birthday and that's about it.

Now when raspberries, strawberries, etc get ripe, those don't count :)
Time to plant some more peppers today.  I bought all these pellets and haven't used one yet lol.  They will come in handy when the bulk gets planted.

Just finishing up the habanero section of my list tonight.

My remaining peter pepper seeds are going in some paper towel behind the wood stove and if they germ I will plant them, if not, no peter for me this year.

Got the sidewall cut out of the tractor tire for my easy DIY raised bed.  It is going to take a lot of dirt to fill this thing.  Going to be a nice blend of goodies in this dirt.

Cutting the sidewall out of this tire wasn't as straight forward as I thought it was going to be.  Even with my saws-all I had to drill some holes near the tread to get my blade in and then it cut easy.  Trying to cut in from the bead was pointless.

I have heard of people using tires for their potatoes, and then just flipping the tire over to harvest.

Got this reply from a hybrid question I sent to an ebay seller.

I've been doing this for over 20 years..I separate and pollinate the hybrids and they always grow true..each year.....

So all this F1 and F2 stuff must be nothing but mumbo jumbo!!!

What does that even mean?
You ask for him to go into more detail.
This could be fun.

I said something to the affect that I didn't care if he was growing them for 1000 years, F1 is the one that counts in this instance.  It has the traits the grower is looking for.  F2 will not be the same.  He probably won't respond back to me.

Nice progress, and the tire bed looks great too!

How many plants from each variety are you shooting for?

It is going to vary from each one.  I know the one I am trying to grow out I am going to have 15 plants and 12 MoA plants.  I always end up with more than I planned on having too.  Really only want one of a lot of the ones I am trying but if I really like them, I want to be able to smoke them and make sauce out of them as well as have plenty fresh pods too.  Seems all my ones turn to twos and my twos turn into fours.  Just like the brown moruga, I only wanted two but I had seven come up and I have trouble killing off plants.  Thus my grow room gets crowded and watering turns into a chore. And if I am doing that much work, they will go in the garden lol.

LOVE the tire, Jeff!! In eastern NC, it's very common for folks to plant, esp. strawberries (black holds heat in event of early spring frosts and can easily cover with tractor tire as brace against frost) or flowers, or cut the tractor tire and put it around small tree and add plants. Remove when tree gets bigger. I had tons of them at old house, after we moved here but when moved again, no way was I getting them out of ground, esp. with no help.

Plants look excellent . . . s'alotta choc morugas, hon! But they will ferment/smoke great. (At least am hoping mine will.) Loved the year in review of fishing and Jeff, I saw a crappie   . Resoled my oldest younger bro's hunting boots for him for Christmas; we were 5 miles into Linville Gorge rabbit hunting on day after T-giving, and if tragedy will strike, it'll hit him. I roped his soles back on and trudging back out of there, with his feet going numb, every rabbit within 30 miles stopped to hang out and chat. (Shooting up the gorge is just dangerous.) Love the smoker and big time score on pig!

Best in 2014, sweetie! As am sure your grow will  scale back (yeah, right). Sure you want to argue with morons selling seeds on Ebay? While humorous, as Jason suggested, I only inquired about a type of prickly pear cactus--some pads--that will grow in this area, if on higher ground, kept as dry as possible, direct sunlight, etc. Dude kept pushing me to buy them NOW and put them in straight peat. PEAT? Kept getting messages from him. So have asked him to do an experiment in straight-up peat for me. smh ;)

Any sauce with that ham? Looks like a great way to use up ham. I have a bunch of it in the fridge too. We've had quite a lot of ham and cheese melts at my house within the last week. I think everyone is getting a little tired of them.

Seems like a common thread. I hate killing off plants too... Especially the ones you didn't think would make it. That is how I ended up with four OWs and four clones when I really was just gonna make one bonchi.

This hobby has a way of growing... Pun intended.

Cream of mushroom soup does the trick after you season it how you want it.  Quick and easy.
Finally got my peter up and I couldn't be happier.  Now all my peter seed in the paper towel will probably sprout and I will have way too many to use.  Just a novelty any ways.  I suppose I could give some out under a different name and see what comments I get :)

Nice updated list Jeff!

I completely understand about how hard it is to not plant the extras. Maybe you can sell a few? People I gave peppers to have been asking me about next season already and available plants.

I bet cutting up that tire was no fun, even with the sawzall.

Have a Happy New Year!
