"Got a pic of my manzano and of the MoA I planted earlier.  They seem to be doing well."

I'd say that is an understatement, Jeff!  They look awesome!

Too many likable content on the forum, and you have a big soul :-))))))
Paul was suffering from the same early this week.
Interesting idea to limit the number of the likes given by one person...should be a logic behind it...it might worth to ask it from the admin.

Calling for some nasty weather here.  Two straight days of below zero temps, and that isn't counting the -13 I had today.  Decided to plastic off the OW area and give them some heat.  Going to see what a standard light bulb will do before I go out and buy a small heater.  Might be what is wrong with the Choc habanero and to a lesser degree, the Brain.  Still holding around 52 today, but I think if I push this over 60, I should be seeing some improvements.  A lot of them want to bud, but I think the temp is just a bit too cool.

Thinking that if I use this space next year, I can build a rack and hold a lot more peppers (three levels) if I need to instead of just the top of the table.  Might need to change the lighting around, but I just want to keep them alive...4 months baby, hang on OW hang on!!!

They have tested me and my October planting of them.  I seriously believe they weren't keeping warm enough.  Upstairs they are doing well.

Nice looking plants and that dessert looks so yummy....all you need is some vanilla ice cream with that. ;)

Thank you!!!  It is one of my favorite desserts.  Moosetracks ice cream  over vanilla though  :drooling:  :drooling:  :drooling:

Nice looking plants, Jeff! Healthy, dark green leaves always mean something good! :fireball:
The video was also very informative!

Thanks, I thought I learned a lot on the video, especially since I had no idea on how to do it with peppers being self pollinating.  I was thinking you wouldn't know if you got it right and then the next grow you would have to weed out the ones you didn't want.  Still have to do that, but you won't lose two years wondering if it took.

Yum Apple crisp, gotta have some!

Plants are doing more than well bud!

I'm suffering from the dreaded:

You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day

What the heck?

I would mail you some crisp, but I don't think it would make the trip too well lol.....I liked your post to make up for your quota issue lol

I would think it would be some flood control thing.

Hopefully some incandescents for heat and that plastic will keep the room warmer. It is sure cold as heck here in southern Ohio, Northern IN must be downright frigid in this cold snap.

Good luck with the OW man. It sure doesn't look like it's struggling. That plant is huge! How big do you think its going to get with another grow season under its belt?

Since this is my first OW I have no idea what I am in store for this summer.  I imagine it will get much bigger than the first season and I should be getting pods earlier and much more...I hope :)

Hey, Jeff, I read that the midwest and south through eastern
part of the U.S. are experiencing abnormally low temps at the
moment.   We've been down to the low 20's here at night,
but warming up to the high 30's and 40's in the past few sunny
days.  You might have to put in two lightbulbs!

Good luck pampering your OWs.  They look pretty good for
winter plants!

Running a heater on the OW now a little bit.  Have the temp hanging just below 60 degrees.  Temps are suppose to nose dive tonight with tomorrow's high being only -15 degrees.  Brrrr.

Jeff,

Your OW's look just fine, they're growing!

Mine are in the shop, just hanging, but alive. Been a cold start of winter here so far.

Congrats on the new babies!

They are growing but the chocolate hab looks to have gone dormant on me.  Half tempted to bring it upstairs to perk it up, but I gotta keep telling myself that I just need them to be alive come May.

I'm sure the others will pop up soon! :P

I hope you are correct.  The burgundy seeds are from my one pod with the perfect stinger.  I definitely want those to grow out.
With the cold weather, I decided to make some chicken and homemade noodles.  Even added wild mushrooms to the mix.

Its a little loose right now, but the noodles will thicken it right up within an hour.

Homemade noodles?  Wild mushrooms?  Now, that's
the ticket - the soup looks great.  Sprinkle, sprinkle!

That soup looks like just the right thing to keep ya warm during this cold snap.

I think its the pepper powder on top that helps with keeping warm lol.

HabaneroHead said:
I also have Burgundy on my list, from two sources 2 x 5 = 10 seeds sown in total. Can't wait to see them sprouting!
Nice food pics! :P

I think you will like the burgs.  I OW all three of mine from last year and want to plant at least half a dozen of the perfect stinger offspring.  The color of the pods are just sexy.

Yes homemade noodles and sheepshead mushrooms in the dish.

Stay warm Jeff! We just got out of a cold spell on the east coast here. Went from 5F yesterday to 50f today ::crazy:: your OW iOS looking mighty happy. It's definitely going to explode in the spring and give you some nice early pods. This is my first OW year too. Congrats on the first hook the others shouldn't be far behind! Keep making that tasty food to keep yourself warm too.
