Nice updated list Jeff!

I completely understand about how hard it is to not plant the extras. Maybe you can sell a few? People I gave peppers to have been asking me about next season already and available plants.

I bet cutting up that tire was no fun, even with the sawzall.

Have a Happy New Year!

It wasn't fun at all trying to go through the bead.  Once I drilled some starter holes near the tread the saws-all went right through it pretty easy.

Went out to the garage to bring in some soil to pot up some of my starts (have to bring it in since the bag is frozen solid) and brought in two trays for pellets.  That's 144 plants!!!  And the sweets and annuums  get started later.  I don't think one tray will hold all I want to start in January and I hate starting just a partial tray......see where I am going with this lol.....

Im going to need more tires!!!!!!

This is one of the biggest factors selling me on the jiffy pellets. Starting a handful of seeds at a time, rather than the whole shabang.

Got some 3 1/2s soaking up some water for some pot ups.  Looks like it will be a manzano, 7 morugas, and 3 Neyde x.

And the peter pepper seeds behind the wood stove are rooting already.  Guess I will be giving away some peters this year.

Pics to follow either tonight or tomorrow since I am off.

Got my pot ups done this morning.  Was going to do it last night, but I wanted to leave the dirt under the lights to get it up to temp before I moved them over.

The main reason for this pot up was having several plants in a cell I wanted to separate them before their roots all grew together.  If they survive the pot up, they should be good to go.

The one pot up was actually just getting a peter seed out of the wet toweling and into some dirt before it rooted into the paper toweling.  Also is the one Yellow Manzano helmet head that I removed and it might make it and it might not.

Hoping my burgundy, Butch T not, and my habs hook soon....I planted the seed last year!!!

My conversation with the ebay grower that grows out hybrids and sells the seeds got me thinking.  Before I knew a lot about the hybrid thing, I saved some seeds from a cherry bomb hybrid.  Not knowing what is coming out of this seed, I think I will grow a plant out and see what happens.  I imagine it will be a worthless effort, but what's one more plant lol.

It could be an interesting experiment {insert evil laugh here} or more than likely, a waste of time {insert nervous chuckle here}

Came across this video while bouncing around the Internet tonight.  Thought it was interesting.

Very interesting video.

Last season we grew tomato seeds harvested from the Campari hybrid. They came out smaller, almost like large cherry tom's. They were good but not true IMHO.

We grow maties to can primarily, and use Early Girl, as it's a fast producer for us here where it's hot. We still have some in pots going..

I generally run better boy for canning and eating out of the garden along with the sun sugar cherry.  Run some paste tomatoes generally too, but not this season.

Thanks for the info HJeff! Great, informative glog. Your grow effort is really organized... I like your labels. What kind of mix are you using in those flats?

I started my seeds so far this year in some MG starter, but most of the times I just use the pellets as the pot ups are much easier that way.
