Pickles look great. Made some last night for the first time.We will see if I went overboard with the supers. 2 per quart. I want to make a jar of spicy pickled garlic next. Have you ever made pickled eggs?

I have never made pickled eggs.  Thinking about pickling some okra if I get enough all at one time.

I bet those pickles are going to be tasty.
We're finally getting some rain here..... it's headed your way.
I agree with the lack of overall  heat with the Jamaican Bonnets. They can be hot under the right conditions, but still fall into the "Habanero" range. The knife photo appears to be condensation from the inside of the pod. Usually most noticeable from 1st pick morning pods. I have yet to see an oily pod......  :drooling:

Got three shots of rain at home.  Gardens should love this.  I thought they were below hab level, but a really nice flavor.  I can't remember when I picked that pod, or if I left it in the fridge before I reviewed it.

Both of these are suppose to be BMJ.  Apparently something is amiss.

Looks like the top got some "red" genes mixed in, though the color looks a little like a bahamian goat. That or you're seeing some dominant genes pop back up. I'm curious as to what the peachy-red  guys taste like.

I will try to wait until a yellow one is ripe and try to do a side by side on them.

Welp, dunno whut ya done to 'em, Jeff but last I seen pods sent to ya, they were yeller! However . . . one of the reds looks JA Hab and the other looks like a smooth red variant of Bondage Snake . . . heck; am the "queen of nons" this year from saved pod seeds so . . . hey. Hope they taste good!

I was thinking JA Red when I seen the grooves in the one pepper too.  Not sure I have seen a Bondage snake before.  I am curious on their taste too.

Hit the lake for some fishing today.  Got soaked.  Windy, rainy, and cold is a bad combination.  Get home and one side of trailer lights isn't working, but the turn signal is.  Different bulbs I suspect.  I also suspect it is a sealed assembly and I can't just replace a bulb.

Going to taste the JA and the West Indie later today.

Bulb is pulled and can be replaced woohoo.  Orange light in front of the fender is out and is a sealed unit.  Of course the splice is inside the trailer frame.  Uggh.  Also had to replace a bulb in the truck tail light.  What a day for lights!!!

Was itching to try the West Indie Habanero pepper today, but as you can see, it was bad inside. I hate it when that happens.

So I went with the Jamaican Red Habanero. Odd pepper. First bite was pretty intense right at first. Then the heat settled to just under the tongue and the gums. Next bite wasn't bad at all. Bites three and four seemed to have a delayed reaction with the burn hitting the throat. Mild flavor, hard to place. Aroma hit me as soon as pepper was cut. Zero after taste that I have come to expect from a red chinense pepper.

Those pickles look like they are going to come out really nice ;)

How is the brine made?

I hate trailer lights, about ready to move to LED's. Just tired of messing with them all the time.

I agree the orange pods have that JA Hab look to them.

Here is today's haul.  Already processed and ready to be smoked.  Didn't smoke any of the chenzo last year before I made it into a powder.  Going to give it a good smoking this year before I make them into a powder.  A lot of these will be heading to sauce if my bottles ever get here.

When I read you went fishing I was like yeah, and then I kept reading. Sorry you had poor weather. Glad you found the culprits on the lighting issue. I replaced my utility trailer with led's from harbor freight. Working better than the last filament bulbs. Damn earwigs. Very nice pull. Thanks for the Hab review. Hope them bottle show soon. Loved the smoked powder I got from you this year. Might have to give it a try.

Thanks for sharing Jeff.

Sorry bud, I just couldn't like post 1653

But everything else is awesome!

I'm having problems with earwigs drilling holes in my pods too, Jeff.

I just chucked 14 holed pods off one Naga Morich today, then found the nasty bastard causing it all.

He died switftly.
