Homeless man with the gift of a Golden radio voice

So this little piece is going viral.
Many people have probably seen it.

For those who have not...It's a great story

So these guys interview a Homeless man who claims to have the God given gift of a Golden voice.

He does.

Here's an updated description of recent happenings

Throwing this video from the Columbus Dispatch out there, hoping we can find this talent a place to call home.

UPDATE-1: Many thanks go out to all of you who have been tossing phone numbers and e-mails my way for Ted's sake. I went up to Hudson/I-71 (Columbus) today, but Ted wasn't there. He is going to be on air tomorrow morning on radio station WNCI. I've left my contact info w/WNCI to call/e-mail me on a way to get your enormous opportunities over to him.

I'm going to give him a Trac phone (w/ample minutes) so that he can return calls to all of you.

Hopefully, in some way I'll get in contact w/him. Peace.

UPDATE-2: To all those who have been writing me (as one of Ted's only means of contact), I have learned that the radio station interviewing him tomorrow (1-5-11) a.m. is going to make him a formal offer. Whether true or not, we'll see.

Hope it works out well for him. That was the whole point of me posting this video. I cannot thank enough everyone who was willing to do their part in offering Ted their helping hand.

Whoever lands him is certainly getting much more than a memorable personality; they're getting a great human being as part of their team.

My best to all.

Ah...another homeless journalism student!!

I can certainly reliv...er relate to this.

Interesting story. I suspect if he can stay clean he might be able to make a living.

It sounds like he has been up the ladder already and just fell off hard. Looks like he may get a chance to grab ahold again and start climbing. Good to see someone out there that took the time to re-discover him.

Rediscovery has occurred. Saw the clip on GMA this morning, and CNN this afternoon.

This guy needs to be a VO talent and not waste his time on radio. Radio is also a bad, bad place for him to get right back into what got him here to begin with.

VO talents rarely encounter that kind of temptation regularly, and they get paid big bills.

I heard today that the Cleveland Cavs gave him a job and house! I'm not trying to be funny they really did!

correct.

MTV
The NFL
and many more persons are interested in hiring Ted.

The original piece has over 6 million views in less then 2 days

Here is the CBS piece from earlier today

Over 1 million more views in the past 2 hours.
I have never seen a video go viral like this in my life.

Yup they had it on the news. Cleveland Cavs (as well as others) offered him a job but the Cavs took it one step farther (since Dan Gilbert, the Cavs owner, also owns Quicken Loans) has offered him a guaranteed home mortgage from Quicken loans (at a real good rate and low, low payments). Good to see that Cleveland finally has some kind of POSITIVE news!

A true fairytale...

hopefully he can live happily ever after...

I hope it works out for him, but I have a feeling that he will end up with more money then he knows what to do with and then it's just a matter of time. Hopefully the people who "gave" him a job just isn't trying to take advantage of his new found popularity to make a few bucks. I hope they started him off with a FULL rehab program first and foremost.

It's great to see that someone was willing to give him another chance at getting his life back together.

Just goes to show the power of You Tube and the influence of the internet in getting someone's story out there for everyone to see.

Plus it doesn't hurt that the guy really does have the talent for the job.

Best of luck to him and those who've chosen to help him out.
