Hot Sauce/Chile Load Limit?

So I'm sitting down to my usual Sunday morning coffee followed by breakfast of leftover chicken enchies. Open the fridge, grab the hotsauce.(Orange Hab from a batch made last week). Notice the stash is getting low. Then it hits me. I am about to open up a new 5oz. bottle.....the 4th in 7 days!! That doesn't count the 2 2oz. bottles I ate at work. Then I start to thinking about all the hot sauce and chile's I have consumed in the last 7 days. The total...

19oz. orange hab sauce
20 fresh jalapeno's
14 fresh orange habs
2 fresh off the plant pequins
6 Anaheim's

For some reason that seems like alot but then...

I eat 2 or 3 a day and "used" to think that was a lot. Not anymore, I need to step up the pace, you guys are really good.
 
Ya, we go food shopping just so there's stuff to go with the chiles.

That, and it's entriging running into RB in the Meat section. :lol:
 
I don't eat that many but I do eat hot stuff every day whether it is hab powder, some Pain2, some fresh or frozen pods or some of my own homemade sauce. it is very rare for a day to pass without hot pepper
 
Once had 20 habs a sitting. the instant burn I don't mind... but couldn't sleep that night. burned the toilet. :lol:
 
Eat some Naga..when tippy brought two bottles of sauce all the way from the UK, I did a tsp of each without question.

Was hot. Veryhot.

I do eat Nagas... daily! fresh, dried, powdered and pickled. :oops:
Had some Pure Venom, does that count?

You'd like my pickled Bhuts from Gnil though..they are delicious..for about 20 seconds..lol

Ate a whole one and thought my world went into 3d....yum.
His idea of picklin garlic w/ bhuts...evil! They are sweet and painful.
 
50 habs a week!! I don't eat 50 of anything in a week! RB you are in a class all to yourself. Mind if I find you a pedestal? Wow.

I'm just starting this journey into capsaicin country so I'm way behind. I do plan on catching up.
 
I don't usually eat to many raw chillis unless I am trying something that I am gowing...

I do however go through a bottle of the chilli factory's turbo supercharge every week give or take a few days...And that stuff is super hot...
 
Last night while cooking up mac and cheese paired with copius amounts of brewhaha and tequila, I got the bright idea to start popping red little pequin bullets...about 40 of them! Big mistake. :mouthonfire: Today my culo is like an AK47 with a full clip on full auto. "Machine gun....tearing my body apart...." Good times.

Woke up this wonderful Christmas morn with "issues". Then I realized over the last 24 hours I consumed 12 fresh jalapeno's, 6 pickled jalapeno's, about 30 pequin's and almost half (2.5 oz.) a bottle of habanero hot sauce.

looking through this thread again I was thinking those of you going through several bottles of hot sauce in 1 week might not be buying hot enough hot sauce then ? ;)

Actually CH, I haven't bought any hotsauce in several months. I've been making my own habanero sauce and it gets hotter with each batch. I would say currently my sauce's run as such:

Frank's would be a 1 or low heat on a 1 to ten with a Naga or high extract sauce being a 10 or high heat. I would put mine about a 5. Hot enough to kill hippy's and old ladies but pretty mild by THP standards. I don't envision the day when I can pop Naga's like m&m's and I wouldn't want to. Heat is important but I gotta' have the flavor too.

TB - I know flavor is important when it comes to hot sauces & other things, right there with heat/spice.

I was just throwing it out there in general for all, not directed towards 1 person. maybe they're not buying/using hot enough hot sauce IF someone uses alot. or time to step up another level in heat :hell:
I also dont see myself eating superhots like candy or IGG chilehead level, but I do like alot of superhots in hot sauce.

I'm also making more & more of my own hot sauces now, which I make HOT! & leave the ones I buy to be the tester/mild sauces. I'll still buy some sauce every now & then, some tend to be mild IMO & I use those up fast others might be chilehead worthy & those are considered testers to get ideas to make my hot sauce hotter or better flavor, & all bought hot sauces will be for display oneday (I like the labels, not the corny ones, & bottles. its just a chilehead thing & different)
 
I don't know exactly how much I use, but I do know that Tabasco Habsauce isn't an option (Not hot, don't taste good). I kind of use capsaicin as a painkiller. I have a fracture in my lateral femural condyle (knee...) on my right leg and because of that a heel spur on my left, but life is a lot easier if I eat hot stuff. My legs don't hurt as much!

Don't worry - I'll see an othopedic in June! Got to love free medical care! You pay taxes until your ears bleed, but when you need them you have to wait 20 weeks before they even consider using your tax-money to do an X-ray and see that you aren't whining but really in pain.

BTW - if you have any seeds for the superhots to donate - send me a PM...
