Global warming is definitely real.
How much mankind has impacted the event is still somewhat in question.
No doubt we've had impact - but it's not like the Earth has been stable since its formation.
We currently live in an Interglacial period. That's the time between ice ages. The Earth has had them before & the Earth will have them again.
As sad or shocking or horrific as it might sound, there will be another ice age. And the ones in the past weren't caused by man either.
Is it possible that we are accelerating this? Absolutely possible. Are we causing this? Only as much as we're causing the Earth to spin on its axis.
I'm not one of those right wing "global warming is a myth!" guys - I fully acknowledge the change in climate and believe global warming is happening.
But I see it as more a natural cycle of the unstable planet we live on. And a lot of the propaganda is politicians latching onto the issue a a political tool for one side or the other. In the end I seriously doubt politics will save the planet regardless of Man's efforts. The Earth has other plans.
I wonder what the next dominant species wil be, and whether they'll invent hot sauce. Hope so!
Back on topic, I also extend my thoughts & prayers for everyone in harm's way back east. My personal friends & family are thankfully all ok - some damage but nothing that can't be fixed.
I hope all the THP-ers out there are safe & warm.
