Now that I have a beard, whenever I go outside in a snow stome I come back looking like those guys in the Artic, snowballs hanging from my face. It feels funny when your snot freezes.

Speaking of artic beards, remember this classic.... warm thoughts

I love the fact that I can chill a beer in only a few minutes. Hey you have to look at the positives:)
I hear ya on that.People were amazed that I got my old winter beater started this morning I ended up saying f*ck it last night and going to bed(I dont believe in using blockheaters on cars you have a good battery your set and its a waste of hydro)
You would laugh I was outside bundled up at lunch today talking to someone having a smoke and my lunch..Well as I was eating my sandwich you could see white spots on the bread were it was forming frost or starting to freeze one or the other..Looking at that I decided it was time to go back inside lol she was a little nippy today lol.Tomorow is going to be about as cold

I gotta say my winter bomb my 85 skylark is a tank in my holidays I had too much snow on the road beside the bank from blowing banks are too high and no where else to put it...I made the executive decision to fix it I plowed the buick through it..it was kinda fun lol and at the same time fixed the problem..Wouldnt do that with a new car though...Man I miss my Jimmy and my Z24 springs coming

15F here right now in Tennessee. And we consider ourselves in the south...

And those of us in the true south note this quaint affectation of yours.

*ladylike yet haughty sniff*

Tomorrow is going to be our coldest morning.

It is 23 here now and this is supposed to be our coldest day in sight for a while...

Today it got to 42.5 roughtly, only that was celcius. I figure that to be 108 F. I had to mist water onto my 18 month old every 10-15 mins, and occasionally take her outside to hose her down, as the airconditioning is still in the sales shop, havent got around to buying one yet.

Out of interest, whats the warmest/coldest/most extreme temps you guys have been in? Personally, its +52C (Northern Australia), -40C/F with no wind (colorado), -35C with a hell of a windchill (skiing at 50 km/h, we figure it should have worked out to -60 or worse, was not fun).

I couldn't even tell you the coldest I've been in, but it's been cold I know that.

We almost broke a record in Cleveland today. It's -9 F ouut right now. I went out to take the dogs to the tree and almost fell on ice.

Aw, you never know where to look when that happens, at least you didn't fall. At work the other week it was really icy despite the salt/grit and everytime I had to walk a few yards to another building in my heels I walked across the grass, which took me halfway round the staff car park, then the last few steps holding onto the hedge just to get there and stay upright.

it's -20 here but bright and sunny with not a lot of wind, good times. the coldest i'd ever been in was the co-op term i worked in ottawa for jan-feb, -50 for a coupla days...luckily i have some freakish OC transpo luck where whenever i approach a stop the bus just magically appears :D give me ten minutes in ottawa, i can end this strike just by showing up.

my sister hates the cold and is trying to convince me that we should move to california (she calls me abour 1-4 times a day, so where ever she wants to go she tries to convince me to go there too. she's keeps sending me job postings for ottawa). it's not worth it, i'd spend all the extra money on air conditioning.

We had our coldest night in the last five years last night, -4. The coldest actual temp I've experienced was -25F. It didn't seem that bad but I was a lot longer. Ditto for the coldest temp with wind factored in, -54. I had to fix some antenna wire on top of the house where nothing blocked the wind. It did sting my hands after a while.

As much as I do not like the cold, I actually hope we have a couple of spells each year like this. Drives the insects much deeper into the ground and helps the soil. We always knew a mild winter where the ground never froze to six inches deep meant a lousy growing season. Now that it's done that, I hope it thaws soon.

As soon as I get done with school my wife and I are moving south. We hate the cold.

Hells yeah! I think you folks would enjoy the suncoast of Florida. The Tampa Bay area is really, really nice.
