Joyner's Hot Pepper Powders 2014 GLOG

As of now here is the somewhat final list for the 2014 growing season...the 7 pot red has a question mark because I am waiting to see if I can use a 1/2 acre in Va of my uncles and isolate. It is very hard to leave over 100 different varieties in the seed bin and not grow them all out!

Best of luck to everyone and I plan to get seeds started in the next few days.

I see you're into ground level hunting, it's so much more challenging!

I did both, getting up high and the ground. The most fun was the ground stands on an Oats patch. I have an old Mathews Legacy (well now it's old) 315 through the crony @ 67lb. It ended the jumping string I experienced with the round wheel bows that were all there was in the 80's...

So what do you shoot?
This year I am going crossbow :) Ten Pointe 65 yards dead muhahahaha. Previous bows Matthews! I love black powder too, Thompson Center .50 cal and for shotgun season I move to the Remington 1100 but I might just use the TC all gun season.

Chris what are the bag limits? I hunt in the great state of New York. We are allowed 1 deer per person.

For powder rounds I like my TC Encore in .243 with a 26" barrel with handloads. I also use "the stick" as I call it, and old Remington 700 in 25.06 with 100 grain Sierra's. I've shot out to 400+ yds with this rifle, and it's a terminator.

Since I've lost my lease, I've been letting our place "thicken up" we're certainly not making any real $$ from cattle on 20 acres, since doing that, I'm seeing more game here...

Wow! here 5 deer total that can be all does, but a 3 buck limit.

3 buck limit??? Haha. I have been hunting for 30 years and have only seen about 2 bucks in that time. Although I put very little effort into it. We hunt public land and do no scouting or feeding. Where we go is about 3 hours away and life just doesn't let us get up there enough. Good luck Chris...I will live vicariously through your hunt. I was able to get a doe permit(one), so maybe I will have some luck this year .

I can take between 6 and 10 or really as many as I want in Va. :) Technically I have no limit, family farm. Since I am out of state my license gives me 5 and I can buy extra tags. I usually stop at 4 since that fills my freezer and friends that want some as well.  I'll be making about 25 to 40 pounds of fresh sausage if all goes well.

A quickie pull, colorful time of year!

I missed a small doe at like 10 yards, first dot on crossbow is set at 30 so I overshot lol

Boy... that's easy to do when you don't get enough range time in beforehand... I think the practice helps keep you from tightening up too. :)

Yeah I wasn't tight at all, they came from behind me and walked right under my stand. I watched them and waited 10 or more for them to clear 10 yards. It was my first time using my dads crossbow for hunting and only second day shooting it ever. I only practiced at 30 yards and had no idea the arrow would fly high at 10 yards. Now I have the bow at my house and will be shooting it in the back until my next trip back to the woods. I will know next time where to put that dot at anything under 30 :)

Oh and my brother smoked the deer I missed last night so it is in the freezer, he hunted my stand hahahah

Damn I love the color of that mystery wine pepper!
Thanks as do I, of 4 plants that are in the ground all 4 have same color and pod shape. I plan to pass out a few rounds of seeds for people to grow. They really do taste awesome and if you have not seen Nigel's review, check it out!

Wow, the Douglahs, Yellow 7 Pots, and Peach Scorps are my favorites!  Everything looks great.
Thanks Charles! It was a nice surprise coming back from hunting to see so many more ripe pods. I love the 7 Pod Yellows, some are perfectly shaped!
