With your experience in growing chillis and this grow list I'm sure that you'll be successful if you decide to start your sauce and powder business.
And definitely heat won't be a problem in any of your products.
Best of luck... and post some pics when you can. :)

Thanks man, I'll post some pics in a day or two, nothing much to see yet, just the setup that they're in

What do you soak them in? I'm going to try and increase my germination rates this season by doing things to the seeds first.... like soaking in different solutions.

I've been soaking them in luke warm water/camomile tea mix for 24hrs, then into the jiffy pots at a depth of about 3mm

It's terrific that you have the seeds junglerain! i'm thrilled that you do! i want people to try it. i want to get it out there. i was wondering because there was only 5 pods last year. i ate 3 of them. sent one to mike and one to judy(pepperlover) so when i saw it on your grow list i got a big silly grin on my face! i believe the cross is yellow 7pod and either bhut or chocolate bhut. i'm not trying to patent the strain , it's just a good cross. the flavour will blow your mind! the same plant that i got 5pods off of now has nearly 60 pods. good luck with your season. hope you take some pictures!

if its a Bhut Jolokia choc x 7pot/pod yellow, then it will be interesting to compare it with the same hybrid I've been growing

Awesome list Grant. Crazy heat in there and more interesting cross i cant wait to see. As someone said earlier no babysitters and keep the dogs out of the garden.
cheers!

Thanks mate, yeh I'll be putting up a good wire fence to keep the buggers out this season

Dude its getting pretty cold out your way, you seen any frost today?

yeh I noticed a bit of frost on the grass this morning, but not much yet

Can I ask if you use a weak or a stronger brew, Grant?

Just curious as most of the time I hear people suggest weak but I have always made a stronger brew (not strong, strong - but not weak either) and have never had any problems.

My solution I think is on the weak side..I also add a pinch of salt to each litre
It was sugested that I try this method from a few people on the italian pepper forum
for older seeds it was sugested to soak the seeds for another 24 hrs in a solution 500 ppm of Giberellic Acid At 29 ºc
I Can PM you what little info I have on this! I believe it is called osmotic priming

Yes, please do, Grant!

I find plain old camomile tea does the trick for me most of the time - especially once I started making it a bit stronger, I have found less of my sprouts coming up with helmets on. Buuut, that being said, I have various seeds from a couple years ago that I had problems with (not viable? old? who knows?) and I wouldn't mind giving them another shot!

I will have a go with the chamomile tea solution.
I have also heard lots of "magic beans - beanstalk" stuff about Giberrelic acid. It's not the sort of stuff they stock at bunnings though.

camomile TEA.........................Bloody hell first its all the women in me life bangin on about camomile tea...Got sore tummy "have some Camomile tea' I have insomnia "have some Camomile tea' I feel a cold coming on "have some Camomile tea' The Broncos are losing by a mile "have some Camomile tea' I wanna get pissed "have some Camomile tea instead" , then its me flamin doctor, then I catch me mate drinking it............now its good for soaking seeds.....What the Flamin Heck is going on......We are all becoming bloody Hippys ;)

I sense a bit of anger in your aura JoeyK.... some chamomile tea would help with that.

Ok last night I had the tea with some honey and it was pretty good but I am still a man dammit so it will remain a secret.

one hell of a list, can't wait for some pepper porn! much karma

hell if i get a cold i drink beer if my tummy hurts i drink beer hahah..

Here's My first wave of seeds soaking and so far, the first seeds to sprout were the Bhut Jolokia Peach...in 3 days

Nice germination box. I can't remember but when you soak seeds are the floating ones supposed to be good or bad?

If they're floating I just give them a few pokes with my finger and down they go,
usually I think is just microscopic air bubbles holding the seeds up?????

Very nice JR.

How long do you soak them? Is it really worth it?

I never soak mine, I just use the plastic bag germination method.
