Fish tacos.

My favorite.

Boxed.

Fresh.

Baked.

Grilled with a Zippo lighter.

I can eat them ever day.

But sometimes.

I just need a cheeseburger.

Even on friday.

GIP.

That's a hot blue and righteous.

$10.95 for three fish tacos? TB be liking the tilapia!

Tilapia?

Negative.

I'd rather kiss my dog on da' mouf'.

Right after she licks her butt hole.

Tilapia in and of itself is not a bad fish.

Its the source where it comes from.

That makes it bad.

If I had a 10 acre pond on my property.

And stocked it.

I'd be cool and the gang with eating it.

That really is the issue w tilapia as far as I'm concerned.  Just because it can live elbow to elbow with other fish and be farmed like current agribusiness meat does not mean it can't be fine on its own sans said lowest common denominator farmed fish origins.  I'm sure that commercially farmed crappie or bluegill or walleye would be equally bad, just because lowest cost crop farming is so prevalent.

You gotta' look at the labels.

Tilapia.

Farm raised in Vietnam.

That means.

A Mekong River tributary or pond connected.

One of the most polluted water ways on the planet.

Tilapia are purported to be vegetarians.

But they will eat chicken shit.

And ever 'thang else that fits in their mouths.

I'll stick to wild American bluegills.

Costco has fresh tilapia from Honduras. :D I think i would probably like bluegill or sunfish better too for tacos. I would save my good crappie for just plain fried since it can be a little seasonal if you want a good limit of fish. ATM i think white bass are still schooling below the damns around here. Good stronger fish for stuff like tacos.

I only buy wild caught fish. There's one exception, Faroe Islands salmon. It is "farmed" in the fast moving channels between the islands with 0 antibiotics etc. Because of the moving water and space there are not the same issues as with farming. It is delicious! ;)

Oh and sometimes I've just got to have my catfish, period.
