Asian has been suggested and the process was narrowing it down. SE is where the spices and curries are.
I never would have guessed that "Asian" would need so much discussion.
When I hear "Asian Food" this is what I see:
I'm not thick...I know there's way more to it than that.....(regions, cultures, styles)....but I don't think it needs to be that complicated.
If it has to be narrowed down and/or limited to a certain area, style, or ethnic group......perhaps it's too broad a category to begin with.
I'm fine with just calling for an Asian throwdown. Let the individual take their own path.

That's a Vietnamese restaurant. So you want Vietnamese, or all of SE Asia? Confused.

I think of Indian style as distinct from SE Asian style. Would like to see a separate TD for that - it's that good.
Roughly my regional thought:
In the northern area of SE Asia, start with Mongolia and go south, excluding that bit of Russia over to the right.
In the western area, start with China and take a slice between Burma and Thailand (I would consider Burma to be more Indian-style, but Thai more of what we're talking about.)
In the southern area, include the islands down to Indonesia, including the Philippines. Exclude Australia.
In the eastern area, hmm.... maybe about to the 150 longitude mark?

LOL geeme you're getting crazy. Asia is a huge continent, and I don't want to get into creating some crazy border to leave out some countries. SE Asia is a defined area that is known for the spices, heat, and curries. No border needed. It's known. If you want to do Asian, it would be all. You can't leave out countries like India, all is all. When British people go for "Asian" food they go for Indian. Over here because Chinese take-out was so popular most people think Chinese. Others think of what they love. It's a huge continent, and encompasses a lot of diverse flavors.
