Meatfreak 2013

With some delay I sowed last sunday, 24 february. First I had doubts to start at all since it was already getting late in season but with all the varieties (thanks to all the great people I traded with!) I wanted to try I had to give it a try
biggrin.png
Keep in mind that the list was over 100 varieties, so I trimmed it down a lot. I intend to keep the 2 strongest plants of each variety except for the Piment d'Espelette. Some seeds are already old like the CGN (±8 years), so I got replacements in case the have popped up in 2 weeks.

I re-potted the Chimayo seedlings tonight, I will give away most of them.

One note before you start to get digging, spray the grass with something that makes the roots to die. Otherwise it will come back rather quickly after the digging and you did all the work for nothing.

Extricating Bermuda grass runners from my soil is 90% of my gardening time right now...That may be an exaggeration, but not much of one....

It's the reason my back hurts all the time, and that's NO exaggeration!

Perfect looking garden plot. Plenty of space for any additional crop. Full sun for tomatoes and peppers...what more could one ask for, except and early Summer and a late fall.
Have fun with your plantout, the tomatoes look ready.

Opps, Sorry Stefan .....I didn't view all the B-Days.............Have a happy one , what's left of it.

Greg

He's probably out on the town with the wife. Stefan and I were born on the same day, same year, a few hours apart given the time change between the Netherlands and Canada.

I was indeed :D We went to Brugge and had a great dinner at great restaurant/bar. Just the two of us, maybe three if you count the really little one that's growing in the belly ;) Hope you had a great day as well over there, Conor!! It was beautiful here, with lot's of sun and 23°C. Today is a different story however :banghead:

The great thing is, it's just an hour drive from my own town. Love the old buildings/architecture.

Thanks, Greg. Did a lot of work these last two days, sowing all kinds of veggies :) Also prepared the tunnel so I can put on the plastic later this week, hopefully we will have another sunny day. The tomatoes are more then ready and stretched a bit :(

The 25th is my daughter's bday also. happy belated bday.

Thanks, Pia. Happy bday with your daughter as well.

Do think I counted 10 pictures, so if you got more, here's the bump. Keep'em coming ;o)

Yes, got some more on my sleeve ;)

I love how these C. Pubescens grow. If I like their taste I will definitely grow more next season.

Numex Twilight that I'm gonna use as a ornament peper in my front garden, it's a lot of plants so I hope to get a nice thick bush. The kids in the neighborhood will learn their lesson if they eat them

First pod of the season is from the Chimayo (stickman). I was tired of nipping off the buds from that plant :P
