Melissa77754 2012 Glog

Hey Everyone
icon_smile.gif

So I figured it is about time I start a Grow log of my own and I will do my very best to keep it up to date. With two kiddos and a massive amount of plants my days can be pretty hectic. I grew jalapenos and serranos last season, had a decent harvest considering the small pot size I used. In July I met a nice lady giving away hot pepper seeds to newbies on GW, decided to give them a try, August met Smokemaster through a generous SASBE offer and the rest is history!! lol

I started a batch in late August so I have some "overwinters" if you will, living in SoCal I can grow year round with the right protection from time to time. I started out with a cheap 12'x7' hoop house and when the winds thrashed that I bought two 6x8 with shelving, still the cheaper plastic hot house type but the shelving makes it heavy and the winds don't phase it. I also have a 6x6 indoor tent with a 4 bulb T5 and 2 monster size CFL's. The growth indoors versus out does not even compare, T5's are amazing! Have to thank my bro for giving me that fixture.

I am hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew being it's my first real season growing super hots mainly. I plan to sell some plants along the way to help fund my pepper growing addiction

My log will be pretty picture heavy which I am sure most will not mind! Enjoy and happy pepper growing to everyone!!

Work is for people who dont grow hot peppers. Lol. Nah it's cool. I was imply a pod or two not plants. I'll just sow some more seeds like I have been since march!!

The original saying I saw on a bumper sticker
"work is for people who don't go fishing"

."....[background=rgb(255, 250, 242)]spare aji choco hand grenades ........"[/background] :rofl:
There is huge amounts of variations with the TS Chocs, and there is even a Moruga version......all of which I want to see x'd with yellow 7's... :shh:

The yellow scorpion mystery.......if its a good one then "shrug"-My favorite of the year is a yellow mystery, definitely sweet, about a 7 in heat...possibly a Trinidad Treasure.Matches a description in the Pepper lover catalog(and the pic-starts whitish, turning yellow). Should have some ready for "the box";)

You really enjoy sowing seeds in that aero don't you?! Just gotta take care of that forasium wilt problem and you should have tons of healthy plants! Sow away D! :D

I had no idea there was so many variations on the choco TS, mine is barely starting to flower. But my brother's are freakin scary looking!! haha! That yellow mystery I gave my bro is evil looking, but taste so damn good! Looking forward to the "box"!! ;) Going to be fun putting one together for ya, especially since you have some of the gnarliest pods around! Gotta really pick and choose the cools ones for ya!

Ok you asked for the White 7 pics and here they are, just as I promised! Even with my DSLR it was hard to get a good picture of the true color, they turn a creamy light light yellow when ripe. Really hard to explain. But the oils in those bad boys are crazy, no wonder I freaked when attempting a review with my bro! Half of a giant pod was more than I could handle, newbie mistake and man will I never forget it! At least we laugh about it now, maybe one day I will get the nerve to post that vid! haha!

Inside shot of the pod, hard to see in the pic but it is loaded with yellowish oil! And smelled hella HOT! Salsa time tomorrow!

Was too busy spraying my plants before sun down to take pics but here is a really cool night pic, enjoy and happy friday THP!! :D

Night shot of my Chocolate Scotch Bonnet, seeds compliments of the one and only smokemaster!

ahh-this(White 7) looks more like a 7 pot- lots of the ones I've seen look like habs on the inside....clump seed cluster and not much ribbing or placenta! Me like. Thank you for the inside view;)

You are very welcome Dave!! Most definitely 7 pot heat, flavor is outstanding! ;)

Grey looking pods. It's good to see the progression on the glogs from everyone having green pods to ripe pods an harvesting. Love pornage.

Thanks Pia!! I like going back to the beginning of my log from time to time see how far I have come, it is truly amazing!! I have a review of a Yellow 7 LRG uploading now, my husband and I took the plunge in to hot pepper reviews last night and I must say I am proud of ourselves! Stay tuned :)

Those white 7's are no joke, great heat and flavor! Love the look of those Chocolate Scotch Bonnets from smokemaster, can't wait to try one!

I will bring a couple to try out tomorrow, review time bro!! :D

OK THP, IT WAS ABOUT TIME FOR A VIDEO REVIEW. THE HUBBY AND I TOOK ON A YELLOW 7 LRG LAST NIGHT AND I MUST SAY WE DID PRETTY WELL!! :D YOU CAN EXPECT MANY MORE REVIEWS FROM US AND MY BROTHER WILL BE PARTICIPATING NEXT TIME, MR_POTS! ENJOY!!

Thank you Joe!! The 7's are no joke, took me a minute to accept the heat and push through it! Funny, I saw the thread about White 7's. You and Chris both said they weren't too hot, which is why I decided for my brother and I to eat a whole half! My seeds came from pepperlover and wow are the pods HOT!! This picture I posted above of the white 7, if you look real closely you can see the drops of yellowish oil!! I guess I got lucky with a superhot white 7.

Peach Habalokia sounds like a great next review, I will make that happen for you! ;)

Excellent review Melissa. I look forward to future reviews. Post your YouTube channel so I can sub.

Thanks Pia!! I don't really have a channel yet, only created a youtube to upload this video. And this is an unlisted vid on youtube, only way you can see it is by having the link. When we decide to get real serious about reviews I will set up a public profile.

Great review, look forward to the next ones.

Thank you! :)

Excellent pods, plants, and review. Loved it.

Thanks Bodeen! :)

Thanks buddy! I love that yellow 7, but it did hurt me for a minute, you can see it in my face! haha! A must grow every year that's for sure! I know, been lagging on the updates! I wish I had labels for them all, so at least I could say what pepper I am posting! lol.
