Plants are looking pretty good. You've got a lot more pods on than I do.
Thanks Ben, they will start blowin up soon enough!
Matt,
Great video tour.... Looks like pods o plenty..
. Your grow log is exceptional... thank you for taking the time to document/ shoot/ edit and educate everyone. It is an enormous feat.
Regards, Chris
Thanks Chris. It is a bit of my craziness coming out. If there is one thing that the Corps has taught me, it is attention to detail!
NIce video brother! Funny you mention unstable when you talk about the infinity! I have about 4 different pod types on the same plant and they're ripening yellow...I haven't tasted one yet??? Your pods are freaking HUGE! I can't imagine munching on one of those Carbon's they look like freaking carrots!
Yea, this is exactly how varieties get all jacked up....It is all good cuz I am not selling seeds, and I always let the people know who I am sharing with about the possibilities of them not growing out true, but some people market a seed like this as a true breed. Needless to say, I am excited about seeing all the differences in pod shapes on several of my plants. Also, those Carbons are monsters, and looking at the ButchTs yesterday, a few are reaching critical mass as well.
Wow. It's almost like a documentary rather than a YouTube. Video. I love the PiP photos of the pods. As with the in ground vs potted. You're right. My bhuts inground have prodded while the ones in pots still trying to flower up. Don't know if it's because inground is in 6-8hrs of sun and the potted are in sunshade. Will move some to full sun to see. Anyways. Keep up the podumentary
Denniz
Thanks Denniz! I really enjoy making the videos because it not only helps me to track progress, but also helps others figure out issues or get now ideas. I am convinced that the potted plants are just much quicker to shoot up, but in the long run the ones in the ground will give me a bigger yield. Unless you are growing a Fatalii in a 65 gallon Smart Pot, you may find it difficult to reach in ground sizes. But, the TEA always helps!
Looking good dude! See any pepper plants oversees? If so grab me one and send it my way next time you head out!
a pod that is!
Well I know a few plants that grow rampant over there, but it may be difficult to get them through customs....
I am on the same mission, If I can find anything that the Afghans are like "Hell No, we dont eat that thing, It is straight from the devil" I am in!
You've got some hot stuff going on there
I like the look of these choco habs, some interesting shapes, I'm curious to see if they'll really turn brown...
Me too, I got them straight from Jamie, so it should be interesting to see how they turn out. Either way, they are a great producer already!
Hey Matt, glad to see the chocolate bhut is working out for you...if it ends up anything like the parents you will have more choc bhut pods that you know what to do with. Welcome home, happy 4th and good luck with the rest of your season.
Thanks for stoppin by! I am keeping my fingers crossed. It has been a rockstar plant, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Wow man! Loaded with pods. Can't wait til your next update!
Yea, now the waiting game starts! I am hoping to get in the garden this afternoon, but if not it may be next weekend. I am headed to DC for the week and won't be back until late Sunday night.
Aight. First, you suck. How the hell are you so far ahead when you had that setback in the beginning!?! What are you doing to those peppers man!?!? Steroids? Second, nice work. I'm glad your back around for a bit. Garden is awesome, your wife is awesomer. You are built for this kind of hobby man. Your attention to detail and energy are great assets.
It's hard to believe you are juggling a newborn/job/wife/garden and doing it so well. Your wife is super awesome for doing it all by herself while you were away. I'm sure that was no easy feat!
Anyway, I'll be here looking as long as you are posting. Any ops to container grow while deployed? Maybe 1 plant?
Here is my secret....feed the soil.
I am really surprised, to be honest, that things are turning out so well. After last year's fiasco, I was really hoping that I could pull out a little something. I never expected to have this many healthy plants and all these gnarly looking pods everywhere.... The wife has really been accommodating, and understanding of my craziness... I am leaving again for another week this week and she is gonna keep an eye on them. But the best part of taking up the whole "less is more" revolution, is I was in Charleston all week, and I didn't even leave the drip lines on... I got some rain before I left, and figured that they can manage 4 or so days, and if it rains, then they get a little boost. I came home to some plants that needed a bit of water, and others that looked like they could go another week without. I let the driplines go for about 10 mins, and they all are looking pretty freaking amazing.
In all reality, a lot of things are working together in order to make this season easier than it could be. My son is a superhero who fights crime, so he often has to take off on short notice and that gives me garden time. I am super busy at work getting ready for this next deployment, but when I am not at work or out of town, I have A LOT of time off... (I got home from Cali last week late Saturday and took the week off). Also, I am pretty much taking the whole month of August off to spend time with the family (and garden
) before I head out. It looks like I am leaving earlier than I thought, so that means an earlier season. So, Seth, QYB, you will get at least 2 more months of growing than I will... Lastly, the wife made this comment when she was watching my plants when I was in Cali "I have to admit, I like looking to see what has peppens on it" (she calls them peppens...I'll allow it). So that pretty much tells me that the original
really, another plant mentality is gone!
I could probably ramble for another hour or so, but I have yard work to do. Here is a bit of bad news....I was planning on doing a pod review last night of my Red Brain (the first ripe pod)...BUT, damn bugs beat me to it....They were probably regretting that decision....
Also, here is what I looked like after garden work last weekend. It is a wittle hot here....
Gettin ready for some yardwork, so hopefully I have a few snaps of some new stuff!
Happy Growin!
Also, I have a few more responses, so Ill post them when I get a post to break up the total number of quotes.
