mmcdermott1 Grow List Log 2011

Well here is my grow list and status. I had a smaller home built greenhouse but I am quickly running out of room so I built a 8' long x 2' deep x 4' high one last night. Used reflective 4x8 sheet in back and bottom/sides/top are some r13 insulation that is suppose to have 98% reflectivity. We shall see. As of now, I have 445 seeds planted and/or purchased and 147 germinated seeds. Other than the 2010 Jalapeno, all seeds with a "0" germination have not been planted yet and/or were just planted in the past few day. My favorite new supplier is Trade Winds Fruit. Their seeds are germinating at an unbelievable rate. My current list is....

Kevin

He was keeping the damn cat from entering my greenhouse. He had orders to shoot to kill :)

Ok..well my wife was up early all worried about our babies because they spent their first night in outside greenhouse...I told her they would be fine... :) (ok if truth be known I was a bit worried to) but as of 8:27am eastern time..im proud to announce they are all living and doing fine..even grew some more buds (that we had to pinch off once again). Gonna let them stay in for a few hours to catch some sun then back inside the basement for the day. Very sunny today and supposed to be around 80 today. Tomorrow getting back into 50' and 60's.

Well, everything is back safe and sound in the basement greenhouse. The babies survived their first campout last night. Very warm today and very sunny..don't wanna over do it.

Well I counted everything up today and my final count is 250 plants. I still have about 140 seedlings in trays but not sure if there will be time yet. Some are decent size so they may have time to grow, others not so sure about.

I wouldn't give up on that many seedlings yet, you've got a greenhouse that you could heat maybe? At least pick out the most desirable ones. Good luck and great job

Mike

Well, all the green babies have officially been in outside greenhouse for 24 straight hours and seem to be doing fine. I was very worried this morning as it was 39 degree outside air temp although the greenhouse was a bit warmer than that. Wife and I just went out and checked them and everyone seems to be very happy. I think at this point I can turn the lights in the basement off (well once the other 2 flats are done). Supposed to be 60 and extreme rain today so the humidity should be through the roof. I am expecting these babies are gonna be growing like crazy now with the good heat, sunlight, and humidity.

My 100 8" pots are out for delivery on UPS truck and going over to pick up a BUNCH of new dirt this morning. We will be transplanting around 80 plants today and tonight into their final shoes before going into the garden in Mid May.

So far so good...
