Mmmmmm...poppers!

Hey ya'll once again from the big dry ditch in Las Vegas. I was going to grill today but ahhh...a little too hot once again. Maybe tomorrow will be more appropos. My gal had bought some very nice ground beef to make some sliders but she changed her mind as usual and opted instead for spinach/cheese ravioli with garlic cream sauce instead. Of course I was enlisted to do the cooking. So what to do with the ground beef? I have peppers. I have cheese. Duh..como se dice en espanol....poppers!!
Ground beef, japs, 4 cheese Mexi mix, shallots, Lawry's and fresh ground pepper. Here tis. Notice the melon ball tool I use to deseed. Works perfect.

At Woodstock Jimi Hendrix and the Who were in discussion about who was going to close out the festival. The Who didn't want to go on after Jimi (tough act to follow) and Jimi didn't want to follow the Who (equally tough). Finally the decision was made that the Who would go on first followed by Jimi. The Who turned in an excellent perfomance and topped it off by destroying guitars and drums etc. in the classic Who manner. Jimi then pulled out all the stops!! He unleashed the classic.."Star Spangled Banner" and literally stunned the crowd. One of the most electrifying moments in rock and roll.

Now back to the poppers....
From what I see from ya'll's latest postings..you cats are THE WHO! Great! But alas...I 'fo sho' ain't no Jimi Hendrix! But.....hmmmm...."Star Spangled Poppers"?

Well ya'll I couldn't quite get it together for "Star Splangled Banner Poppers". Instead I got shitfaced and managed to poison myself with "Shut Up and Man the F#ck Up! Poppers". I'd picked up some beautiful habs and fresno's from the local chile pusher.
I cut 'em in half, stuffed each side and then put back together.

The stuffing:
garlic
shallot
green onion
goat cheese
ricotta
cheddar
jack cheese
sea salt
fresh cracked black pepper

After stuffing I rolled them in flour, and dropped them into a nice beer batter and then into the dutch fryer.

Served up with blue cheese dressing and lime wedges the poppers were nothing short of fantastic! Wailing and crying with much gnashing of teeth and woe all the while under the influence of "firewater". I ate all 12 habs and most of the fresnos. I may have "manned up" just a little too much though. The poppers are asserting their destructive power in a second kamikaze attack on my colon this morning. I believe I am experiencing what users of steroids refer to as "roid rage". Just think of a cluster of grapes doused with lighter fluid and set on fire! Aaaahh! Good times! Best 'thang about last night was I didn't need my bailbonds man!

Poppers

So I finally took pics of making poppers.

The poppers were delicious! The wife even liked them! Of course, the last time I did habanero poppers, the wife ate most of them! :onfire:

EQ without a doubt those are the cheesiest looking poppers I have seen in some time. Alcohol, cast iron, bhut powder. Enough to make a grown man cry. Well done. Allow me to genuflect one time in your honor!

CH this last batch didn't have the photo appeal of others I have done in the past but the beer batter 'thang just killed! Due to aniticipating the "exit stage left blues" I held off eating more. Were it inconsequential I would have eaten 50!

I'm not sure what you mean by backup. You mean milk? If so, no I didn't have a backup. I loathe milk.

Still waiting for JayT to post his fontina/crab poppers.

But yah, cast iron, alcohol, cheese and peppers equals a very good night.
