I'm gonna go eat some soup with a not as hot cayenne and see if it isnt better

Cayenne powder in tomato soup (or chicken noodle if you prefer) rocks! Really clears the sinuses when you have a cold. I also love adding a dried and chopped deArbol to Ramen noodles. Mmmmm...

Dude! You're as good at growing peppers as you are with scorpions. Who knew?!

Keep an eye on the stomach bro, I'm not accepting excuses for you missing the ATS conference this year. You will be there.

PCH, I do the same thing with the plastic cups. I use two though for each plant. Put a couple of holes in the bottom of the one with the plant and then drop a couple of marbles or something in the second cup. Then slide the cup with the plant into the one with the marbles and you're good to go. Keeps the cups separated and allows for good drainage.

I'll try that way with a few seeds I've got left sound like a good idea patrick, Ive been using rockwool cubes and jiffy pellets

Some of those look like they want to move into new, more spacious living quarters.
Yes indeed they do! I am trying to put off transplanting them for a few more weeks so I can leave them out in the wannabee greenhouse I have. Its just too cold for them outside now even inside the wannabee greenhouse

Pat, I'm still having belly aches the day after eating something hot! I hate that coz I really like it hot and spicy:(

Hey, welcome RockOnman!

I don't like Osmocote, but some of the other folks around here use it.

Thanks, I put some on everything else i've started ut i'm heasitant to use it on the peppers. I started them in Peat ... from what i'm reading on other sites that was a bad idea. What do you all think? Not trying to hijack the thread. Nice plants by the way. I hope mine are looking like that when i get back to SC. I'm in FL right now.

Oh, I didn't even look at the location! You, me, and that Pepper Ridge Farm feller are going to have a Trail of Fire right across South Carolina!

Do you use that Osmocote on those peppers. I'm doing some Bhuts and wondering if that stuff will work.

Hey Rock - Welcome from Virginia. You SC guys are going to light it up this year apparently. RE: Osmocote - I'm trying it for the 1st time this year, it came highly recommended by a garden center manager where I buy my Pro-Mix soil - but then again, he sells it. We'll see I guess, I never used much more than bone meal and those Jobe's plant spikes before.

I've used time release fertilizers like osmocote/nuticote etc. in the past but unless you buy in bulk, its quite expensive and to me it seems like the lazy gardeners' kind of fertilizer.

Slow release fertilizers in general can be tricky. You have to be REAL sure you don't overfertilize because it's harder to flush it out if Something Bad Happens. I swore I wouldn't use any this year but I do have some leftovers. Hmmmm ...
