I'm assuming your Judaic. I must admit I haven't read more than a small fraction of the Tanakh that isn't included in the assorted Christian bibles. But I do see Jews swinging chickens, chopping little boys, etc., and taking such activities VERY SERIOUSLY indeed. This I rate right up there with Crystal Moonbat Voodoo.

Yeah, but, there's a huge fundamental difference between what you seek to compare. It's not that the claim is "our religion is true" and yours isn't; it's that we self admittedly synthesize our own scriptural interpretation to make a legal system work. To exemplify this claim, it would be necessary to point out how we unanimously share the same vowel system; Hebrew is a consonantal language. We could essentially read one verse 30 different ways and they'd all be correct. Collectively, it's not making the claim that "this is what God wants" or "intended" in the writing of scripture. So, when you get all turned off about people snipping themselves, you have to take into account the time and place when these rituals were developed. Moreover, you have to understand how our legal system works and know a thing or two about hermaneutics. A cult, in my book, is any group of people with religious or spiritual underpinnings that blindly follows without asking questions. Any group with a theological Rex is a cult, imo.

While you find that condescending, I find your response indicative of your lack of ability to alphabetize my posts into something not offensive. You can't strip yourself from your own pretext of what is being said. The nature of this post is not directed at any one group of people on this page or anywhere. There is no group of people that these types belong to. You, on the other hand, make a clear point to call me condescending for bringing into question whether you all actually know anything about Abrahamic religions or my own. You simply don't.
