New Toy!

Why wouldn't I hunt with it? .223 is a great varmint round. When I lived in Texas I used a .223 exclusively to hunt with and harvested around 100 animals mostly large wild hogs and about 20 whittetails. Use the right bullet, shot placement, and everything is fine. ;)

Mostly it's for killing paper and home protection. It's getting a rail where the FVG is and I'll be installing a light, laser, and a TangoDown VFG.

Just seem a little unfair or non-sporting. What happened to a nice bolt action for hunting? its like hunting squirrls with a gatling gun. Well not quite but you get the idea.

I hope santi brings a bucket load of FUN for you this year. Whats a sport if the target cannot be blown to pieces by a gas operated killing machine?

Dude, you have never fired an mechanicly assisted rifle have you!?

I fired a C-7 which is a Canadian M-16. They are for killing people when people are trying to kill you though. Not for killing deer. Bow is the way to hunt. Thats challenging. Try bow hunting for bear from the ground. That evens things out a bit.

Dude i don't want EVEN i want KILL! If they do the job they do the job ;)

Do you like a challenge? You must because you grow and eat chiles. Each are challenges in there own right. Especially eating super hots. Why wouldn't you want a challenge when hunting. More challenge = more reward.

Being a human, your brain is the biggest advantage you have. There is no "even". Never has been. Guns and bows are just what we use for the harvest. Doesn't matter what we use. Bows and arrows, black powder, single shots, bolt actions. All fine. But semi autos are the future of hunting. Like it or not, it's the future. Even if you still bow hunt or whatever, the semi's are coming.

That's the thing about technology and progress, you can't stop it. All you can do is prepare for it.;)

You can hunt with assault rifles in the US? can you use auto? I'll bring my baby and we'll go harvest some big meats!

I guess it depends why you hunt. If you like killing things or just need meat thats fine. But if you'd like a challenge or even risk(bows and bear) then they're to advanced.

I have no idea how, but I'm replacing my 14.5" M4A1 with a 10.4" HK416 D10RS. do ya think they'll authorize the extra budget? All of the American troops working with us are using the HK416... I feel outdated.

how's that for hunting gear, eh? :D

Looks good. In Texas you can use almost any means to hunt hogs. They are an invasive species and have no rules. I think you can use full auto. I know that NV and silencers are pretty popular to use when hunting them.

I'll shoot 'em and you'll eat 'em.
