not sure how many metal fans we have here..

regardless, i figured i'd post this. one of my favorite bands (that i've never seen play (and still might not get to)) is reuniting to play some shows mostly in europe. the band is called at the gates..they're from sweden.

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=83047

also, another band is doing the same thing..the band carcass from the uk. two highly influential metal bands that i've never seen live..i hope i can catch at least one of them at some point..preferably both.

Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal, Power Metal, Heavy Metal... just give me metal and I'll be happy.
I'm a headbanger, and proud of it.

Love the metal but I'm behind the times by about 20 years.I don't know many of these newer bands. A couple I do know are THE SWORD ( Austin pride!) and MASTODON. I really dug that PROBOT album Dave Grohl did a while back. I used to dig NEUROSIS too. They're playing here soon...might try to see 'em.

Yeah, I'm not very current on the metal scene. I used to be a big White Zombie fan. Give me Slayer or Metallica's first 3 albums and I'm real happy...or the classic Sabbath stuff which is still the pinnacle of metal mountain for my money.

I listen to a hell of a lot of Motorhead though...not exactly "metal" but they whoop asss like no body's business.

Yeah,metal!

Carcass "Symphonies Of Sickness" is aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh!

My first record ever was Slayer´s "Show no Mercy"!I was 13(now 34).
The second was "Reign in Blood",since this record i´m a slaytanic!!!!

Heard anyone out of Germany from Kreator(i´m sure)?

Hardcore is also my passion.

Bands like Terror,Agnostic Front,SOIA,Hatebreed,Madball,Blood4Blood,Biohazard,Ringworm toooooo much to list!

Stay hard,Frank

You and i have alot of commonality in musical taste, especially on the hardcore side of things!

i got a free ticket to the gigantour..they were giving them out to people that attended another concert. traffic was so bad and i left late, so i only got to catch half of god forbid then megadeth.

i've seen kreator play once a couple years ago i honestly can't remember who they played with though..was a bunch of more recent bands. the next oldest metal bands i've seen were either celtic frost or destruction. i like some older metal, but nothing does it for me like some of the more recent stuff.

The old Kreator stuff is great:"Extreme Aggression","Flag of Hate","Terrible Certainty".

@Sickmont
Can you post some underground HC groups(only the hard!)

Here is another German export live in Nimes(France) in an old arena.I saw the complete DVD(Volkerball). After Slipknot the best live act!!!
Gruß aus Deutschland,Frank.

i like a mix of hardcore..from the punk end of the spectrum, to the metal side. some of my favorites include unearth, darkest hour (their new album is really good), gorilla biscuits, converge, shai hulud, strife, catharsis, in my eyes, botch, his hero is gone, etc.

well, I'm sure I'm giving away my age with his one, but here goes:

Killing Joke
Ministry
Theatre of Hate
Cabaret Volltaire
Skinny Puppy
SPK

Metal - not by strict definition...

Hardcore - without question...

1970's Black Sabbath
Dio
Iron Maiden
Megadeth
Mayhem
Ozzy Osbourne
Nightwish w/Tarja
Kreator
Pantera

And many others...

I'm not a metal guy at all, I'm a blues cat.. but...Disturbed foooookin' rawks!!! I've been working out a version of "Prayer" on acoustic.
I still have Paranoid on cd by Sabbath, the original heavy..but Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger.......Heavy times 10. "Room a 1000 Years Wide" got to be the heaviest riff I have ever heard.
Cheers TB.

Saw Ministry and Killing Joke live in the 80's and 90's...Both were amazing...Theatre of Hate's original guitarist is Billy Duffy - they split in 1983.

I've really been digging "HEAVEN AND HELL" by Black Sabbath. The first one Dio was on after Ozzy quit/got fired.

Great album. Dio is a great metal vocalist and Iommi is brilliant.

Kreator (

Lamb of God (
