event NWCF/Seattle Area Potluck 2016- happened! Sept 9, 10, 11.

Definitely make it easy.

I just checked and the burn ban has eased up. Level 2 restrictions. Campfires, briquets, bbqs are ok!

PepTalk, we'd welcome you with open arms, fresh peppers and bottles of hot sauce.

I just pulled the Whirled Peas out of the BWB.  Next up is the Asian Wing Sauce- Plum/Sesame/Ginger......MMMmmmmm....

Asian Sesame Ginger
Chipotle BBQ
Frank's Red Hot

with PaulG's powders to top 'em off,  I can't WAIT!

Oh, BTW, I'm gonna need help making the Frank's RedHot wing sauce, it's kinda complicated.  ;)

Will 2 ounces of each be enough powder for the wings?
I can bring more if you think it necessary.

that should be more than plenty!   thanks for sharing!

The wing sauces are in the 2-4 range for all folks there and adding the powders to taste should make it perfect.

disclaimer- there might be a defcon1 making an appearance....

I'll actually bring three kinds:

Costeño Amarillo (Oaxaca) - mild
Red Annuum blend - medium-hot
Yellow 7 / Bonda Ma Jacques blend - hot

I have decided to bring stuffed Padrones for the potluck - mild to medium heat
Jared is bringing jerkey and farm cheese - usually mild - medium
Pete is bringing salsa - hot
Juan and Ty are Newbies so we are sort of carrying them.

There will be powder tasting station at site 28 or
wherever ground zero happens to be.

I'll bring a bottle of Culley's No. 1 I got at the PDX Hot Sauce Expo.
And maybe a half bottle of Satan's Ghost hot sauce.  The most pure,
authentic super hot sauce I've had.  Peri-peri's red chili sauce is right
up there, too, more flavor, not quite as hot, but a real scorcher.

I have DuvallDaves new green sauce, Charman,Truth Serum, burns and mccoy, shaka sauce... And a couple more i can't remember right now, all from the pdx show also. Man there were soooo many good sauces there!!!

The jerky, salsa and cheese were really good last yeasr, looking forward to more...

Tomorrow is load up, on the road Thursday.

We'll be there!  Safe Travels Everyone!

Let the Party begin~~~

PS- Walt- we have a new little RatDog in tow.  He usually plays well with others, and we'll have him on a leash.  Just wanted you to be aware when you and the Scotties come to visit.  :)

Hey Ann, Sharon and my daughter Lindsey are the biggest fans of your Whirled Peas sauce. When I told Lindsey that the get-together is coming up and she begged me to get some from you if you still made it. If so, bring lots and I'll buy! Do you have any suggestions for things we need or supplies I should buy? Looks like the weather is going to be perfect for this shindig too. :P

See you all there! Ill be bringing some food, beverages and some peppers with me. Looking forward to seeing everybody and having a good time!

Awesome, and awesome!

I am bringing some Whirled Peas, mild and hot 12 oz jars. Almost forgot to pack em up! Im glad they like it. Will Lindsey be able to join us?

What to bring....just something for the potluck.... My brain is "out" atm... if you come out friday we can figure it out with the resdt of the gang.

I should be there all three days and can run errands or go get whatever is needed. Lindsey is finishing up a hike from Stevens Pass to Rainy Pass on Saturday or Sunday and lives in Sedro Wolley now. That was the section they could not do last year because of the fires, so I don't think so. I talked to Lazienfat (Ryan) and tried to get him to attend but he has a very busy schedule. He said he would try. It will be good to see everyone.

Sedro-Woolley, our old stomping grounds!

Looking forward to catching up.
Fyi-the town of Woolley was originally named Bug.

I know...who cares?!?!???

I do. I'll share that with Lindsey. I am going to make a Costco run tomorrow around noon. Let me know if you can think of any supplies we need or things you like from there.

Bumping this to hopefully get PICS!!!  So far, this weekend officially never happened!

I only got a few, gotta get the phone connected with the laptop after I get some actual work done on the big computer.  You know, things like invoicing customers so we can get paid, minor things like that~  :)

OK, it officially happened, here's some pics, sorry about the orientation, it looks fine on my computer....guess I need a millennial to fix it....

Everyone forgets something when going on camping trips....I just happened to forget the FRICKIN 20 GALLON STOCK POT FOR CHICKEN WINGS!!!  -banghead-  I had to use the chafing dish insert.  Cooked about 10 wings at a time instead of 10 pounds.  Aw Well... they all got cooked and I think 22 people ate 32 pounds of wings.  NICE!!!

(I think pics of the wings are on John's camera which is in Oregon atm....)  PaulG, ChileAddict and a couple others got pics of the food, so I hope they post.

Pancakes, sausage, eggs and BLOODY MARY'S!  -WOOT-

Harold brought a really nice looking -cough- Bubblegum pod and posted up a $20 for someone to eat it.  A few more people posted up some $$ and a PureEvil and a pepper grinder....finally got some sucker brave soul to step up.  JUSTIN!

Why is it that we all enjoy others' suffering, hiccups, snot-fest, and such?  I dunno, but he rocked it out and earned the goods.

HEY!  I was doing WINGS!!!!  Gotta at least have the "classic" along with Texas Creek BBQ Sauce and another unreleased but totally awesome Asian Plum Sesame sweet hot glaze.....all topped with some of PaulG's pepper powders .....

honestly, I don't really care for the Frank's and while in Portland last month for the hot sauce Expo, I actually went to BWW.  Ordered the Medium and One-Down from the hottest.  That's where I came to admit I really don't like the vinegar wing sauces.  But the chipotle and the Asian?????  MMMmmmmmmm......

and you missed it.....
PS- Defcon1 did make an appearance~

PPS- hopefully someone has a picture of the Tasting Table with about 40 other sauces ....
