OCD 2017!!!

Well it's 2017. Finally! Last year was a success, as far as the ground plants were concerned. Virgin, clay ground. My Chinese got smacked by hail twice! No room for error with those. Out of 12 plants I got ONE BBG. First and only. That variety is cursed. Tried for the past 3 years and some sort of calimity happens.

This year I decided to try 21+ different varieties of the BBG. I have 9 Reaper crosses. 21 and counting other varieties. I built a hoophouse and some COB led's. Planning on getting them outside in March sometime. That might be a delusion, beings I'm in Colorado. We shall see. There is only a few varieties that I've grown before. The rest are all new. I'm planning on isolating most of them.

Just started some Lemon Drops for Throwdown Growdown. I will wait a couple weeks before I start the others. Everything needs to be in order before I germinate. No turning back at that point. I want two plants from most varieties. Plants need to be woody by ground day. That's the only way I have a chance at success with late maturity varieties. If I have extras, I'll give away to my friends of THP.

My list is growing, but not much. Here is some of the varieties that made the cut.

I'm glad to see your grow looking so good Chuck.  Loved the video! Your plants are all looking just stellar, and the spur-of-the-moment frame to shade the plants outside the hoophouse was masterful. Your season is gonna run on rails bro!

Holy moly, chuck! What a grow! Very thorough and excellently written & updated. Your plants are looking great! I'd love to have a hoop house/greenhouse, but I'm sure I'd have to learn how to grow all over again. Lol. Your ingenuity cannot be matched. I couldn't have come up with a fix like you did with your shade cloth. I'm also anxious to see how the Pumpkin BBG7 grow this year. I have a late addition seedling of that strain in my garden. Keep up the great work!

I'm glad to hear from you, Rick. Thanks for the good vibes. Plants do look amazing. The best they've ever been. The controlled environment is awesome. No crazy winds, intense sun, and yearly grasshoppers. Plus the added humidity is great. Knock on wood.

I need to raise that shade frame up and build some supports. I'm going to put some potted plants under it as well.

Wow Adam! I don't know what to say, but thanks!

This is my first year using the house. Its actually not as bad as you think. In my climate it is a improvement. Like I mentioned to Rick, It gives you a lot of control. Its like indoor without the electricity cost.

The BBG7 Pumkins are growing like crazy. Just looked at one of them this evening and it's started bushing out since Friday. I hope it and all the other plants get a lot bigger before they start blossoming. I'm sure they will with the high temps I the house.

Great vids of the milling machines, Charles.  I did a brief stint
in a sawmill after I got out of the service back in the day.  I was
always amazed by how the big saw units could manipulate the
logs, like they weighed nothing!

Thanks for taking the time to show us your video & growth  progress Charles! :P

It's really nice to see the how everything has fallen into place, your plants have really taken off..I hope you have some time off soon
to just relax & enjoy the beauties you are cultivating....love looking at your blog when you have updates. ;)
