Fantastic photoging, love these latest pictures, keep up da awesome work mon!
Hab a great day!
Thanks, Ramon, you're very generous with your commentary.
Hope you are ready for the weekend, brother!

Hi Paul,
Your plants in the GH are looking stellar! I don't think I'll buy a purpose-built GH myself, but I'm seriously thinking about building one next year out of PVC pipe and GH film that'll cover the raised bed on the south-facing side of my house. I think I'll use sheet metal screws instead of glueing the parts together... that way I can make it a temporary structure and can re-assemble it at need.

The Wild Brazil in post #695 is looking like it had a miraculous resurrection! I've never seen a pepper plant come back after dying back that much... did you do anything special to help it?
That sounds like the ticket, Rick.  Should make a very serviceable unit,
indeed.  Especially on the South side of the house.

I didn't do anything at all other than cut it off and give it up for dead.  The
first growth tips are kind of twisted and ugly, but the same thing happened
to the manzano that got the overspray,  The more recent growth tips look
more normal.  Guess it's still getting the poison out of it's system.  I hope the
WB makes it through the winter.

What a tease...post pics of the harvest soon....pshhhht.

Was just on a thread about the White Bullets...and someone came on bashing them. I think they're a great little pepper and a cool little plant.
It's on the way as we speak, my friend!  Not much of one, though.
The little bullets are a great pepper.  I think they pack some pretty
good heat for a small pod, and the flavor isn't horrible.

Lovin the pod porn Paul.  What a great season you have had.  Do you notice any difference between the Fatalli and the Yellow Devil's tongue.  I grew both last year and could hardly tell them apart.
Thanks, Pia!  The season hasn't been too shabby.  I'm hoping for a
nice finish with another week of nice weather hopefully upon us!

When I was deseeding the DT and Fatali, I sampled a little sliver of each.
First the DT.  Pretty hot, not great flavor.  Sort of reminded me of a red
habanero, but not as hot.  Then the Fatali.  A bit hotter, but much better
flavor.  The Fatali x Red Savina was also hotter than the DT, by quite a bit,
and more flavorful, too.  I was going to grow DT again next year, but am
having doubts.

As always looking wonderful Paul!
TY Scott.  Welcome to Friday!

Here's the big harvest picture.  Just some Pointed Yellow Habaneros
and Peruvian White 'Bullet' Habaneros:

Agreed on the White Bullet Hab... Chris Joyner sent me a few last year to sample, and I thought they had an alright flavor... not really sweet, just classic Chinense... and a surprising level of heat for so small a pod. How do you like the taste of the Pointed Yellow Habs? Those I've never come across.

I hope the weather holds for you brother... it's been a wacky growing season this year!

Hey, Rick.  The PYH has a beter flavor, in my opinion, and like the
white bullets, pretty good kick for a small pod.  I'll send you some
seeds when I get them dried out.  We are still looking at another
week of mostly sunny and mid-60's -70 degree weather!  Wacky
is right.  June was horrible, and September was the wettest on on
record.  Now this great Fall weather; I'll take it though.

There it is! Those Pointed Yellows have a great color. Most yellows go right past that to orange. Great pull, can't wait to see you put them to use!
Yeah, such  as it is!  They are going in the dryer tomorrow.
Deseeding those small pods is going to be a pita for sure,.
so I've been dragging my feet.

The yellows hold their color in the dryer too, and make a beautiful yellow powder.
The sunlight is a little overpowering, but you get the idea:

You're steady pulling, I just hope the weather holds for you.

Enjoy the weekend!
Yeah, 'slow and steady wins the race' as they used to say
I think we're in for a few more pods.

Hope your weekend is a good one.

Excellent pull on those habs.  Never heard of the pointed yellows before. Looks like they are a bit better to clean than the whites.

Congrats!!!
Thanks, Jeff.  Pretty productive for such small plants - 18"-24" or so.
Another person on the forum said they looked similar to Yellow Lantern.
They are fairly seedy and thin walled, but as you can see, make nice
looking powder.  They might make an interesting rista.  Maybe I'll give
it a try.  It's a great way to dry seeds.  Takes awhile, but the end result
is great - dried pod and seeds!

Great pull mon! I think the finished powder has an awesome color ... would go killer with dehydrated pineapple and a few other additives, great job mon! I hear you on the dragging feet, I've been doing the same lately. Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Thanks, buddy!  I'm still dragging my feet, and now have more pods
to process.  The weather is bomb and the chilis are diggin' the sun!
Ripening is slow due to cold nights, 9 nightsin a row at or below 37˚.
Daytime temps in mid-high 60's, so not horrible.

Welcome to the new week, brother!

Funny you mention pineapple...on the menu for the dehydrator this weekend!
Sounds like a winner!

Here's the new harvest (10/20).  I decided to go ahead and pull what was ripe or
needed pulling due to the cold nights.  The Giant White Hab cross is very susceptible
to splitting in the cold damp night weather (pretty heavy dew every night.):

Some interesting pod shapes on the Yellow 7:

Meet...
_DSC0633a_zps5217833a.jpg

Still quite a few left on the bush:

I hope I'm not harvesting these too early; I'm not sure what color they should be:
_DSC0628a_zps05cbcd98.jpg

Still a monster producer.  The longest pod is three inches long:
_DSC0631a_zps6f548897.jpg

Very few pods left on this one:
_DSC0636a_zps569e7439.jpg

More pods ripening on this bush:

This one has come on strong.  Should ripen up most of the pods with any luck:

Lots of orange pods on these:

Now to get the dryer going.  Still haven't processed the Pointed Yellow
Habs or the Peruvian White Habs.  Mañana   ;)

Did you grow more than one plant of the fatalli X Red Savina?  If so, did you get a yellow pheno and a red?  I did.  If you want to try some let me know.  Like, if you only had red and want to try the yellow or vice versa, let me know.
Hello, Pia.  I only grew out one plant and it's the yellow.  Last year the
pods were red and smaller.  I wonder what will come from the yelow pods?
I still have some of the fatali/savina seeds from last year, but thank you very
much my friend!

Dang Paul, laying on of hands to heal that one plant, the mountain tree, the GREENHOUSE, but unlike Rick, I too would buy one prefab because . . . "I need a cowboy" lol, beautiful poddage, Paul!

And tasted Pia's Yellow x Savina last night after prepped for tomorrow's sauce processing, so while getting seeds out of ferment, after boiling, blendering, I agree: excellent taste and will grow that yellow pheno next year along with reg yellow fatalii. I taste a slight difference enough to grow both. Just gorgeous shots and love the powders. Did you seed the TFM? (My imagination.) And infusing fruit: see Ramon and Scott! Yeah, on "to do" list.

Gorgeous grow and wish could overwinter some red rocoto with pods. Letting them stay in-ground with hopes. Man, you got it dialed in!

Really nice harvest and pictures Paul!

Beautiful poddage there.

Hoping the weather hangs in there just a bit longer too!

It got cool here a few nights, nothing bad but 48° one morning. One never knows here just what the weather will bring..

Have a great week!

Another wonderful pull Paul \o/ Beautiful pods & colors, have fun processing :)
Thanks, bro.  My neck and shoulders hurt from standing for so long with my head down.  And more to go!
Did manage to snag a few more Bahamian Goats.  The sun has been sort of bleaching the pods from peach
to a much lighter color.  Go figure, too much sun in October   ;) :

Also managed a few more Jamaican Red Mushroom and Fatali/Savina pods:

Just fortunate, my friend.  It hasn't grown out, yet.  Just let it sit quietly in the corner until some green bumps showed up, then moved it into the greenhouse!  Each type of GH has its advantages and disadvantages.  Good on ya for at least  thinking about one   :drooling:   Yes, the F/S is an awesome cross.  The seeds for the TFM plant came from Trippa.  I saved a bunch of the harvest seeds, all OP.  Good luck OW'ing the Red Rocoto...

Thanks, Scott.  It looks like at least seven more days of decent weather.  The nights are cool - mid to high 30's last 12 nights.  Days have been hi 60's and low 70's.  Greenhouse has been warm even with doors and windows open!

Hope your own weather holds for you.

All right, dryer time!
