We are starting the New Year with a little run of freezing weather; lows in the 25˚F range at night.

1/1/13 - Soaked seeds 24+ hours, put into seed starting mix (BG, peat and perlite mix). The temp in the grow shelf about 72 degrees, the dome trays about 84 degrees.

Nice looking seedlings paul!! Funny that the Bahamian goat had only 50% germ rate as that was some of the freshest seed. Ah well at least you got enough for your season ;)
 
Paul, your grow is moving right along. Good thing you have the G-house because you're going to have full fledged plants well before plant-out time. Glad to hear you are enjoying the powder!

The powders you sent are awesome, buddy!
I'll be growing under lights and in the greenhouse
for at least 12 more weeks, and probably more. Lots
of the plants will have flowers and maybe even small
pods on some by the time I get to plant them out.

Yes. I feel fortunate to have them. I don't want to count my
chickens before they are hatched, but I'm hoping at least one
of them survives in good health!

Did I see that you are having nasty weather in your neck of the woods?

Oh yea buddy, its bitterly cold my friend. Suppose to warm up tomorrow! I'm not usually one to say this but I cannot wait for spring this year.

How are your clones and babies doing? We're rockin' here, but probably a couple of weeks behind you with the exception of the manzanos. Still nothing there. Any chance of pics... I'm really hurtin' brother and need a fix... ;)

second set of true leaves, so I need to start thinking about transplanting!

I'm happy that they did germinate; I always hold my breath when
I have one I really want to pop! Those were 20 days from soak to cotys.
There is a Yellow Scotch Bonnet hook that has been sitting for three days
without breaking the soil. C'mon, man!

Not much change since the last pics, my friend. One of the clones
kicked the bucket - it was the smallest and weakest one, with no
leaves on it. The others are still in survival mode, not much visible
change, but the growth tips are still green, so I'll take that.

The seedlings are starting to put on second leaves, so will get some
pics when I transplant out of the starter cells, probably sometime in
the next week.

Thanks for inquiring, Tristen. We are fine here. Just been occupied with
going through my dad's photo albums and finally getting to work on some
genealogy research and family tree building. I can trace my ancestors on
my dad's side to Wales in the 1500's. There just hasn't been much happening
grow wise here. I realize I need to spend some time visiting all the fine grow
logs on the forum!

One bit of news: I soaked and planted 9 Peruvian White Habanero seeds from
the seed I harvested off of the plant Spankycolts gave me last Spring. That
was on the 20th, and today there are 3 sprouts showing at 7 days. I agree with
Trippa, fresh is best!
 
Looking forward to pics of your progress brotha! Your clones will be just fine...and probably better than most of my plants!

Shane! Good to know you are still alive and kickin'!
I'm confident in getting at least a couple of good plants
from the bushy aji clones. Actually, 2 would be just
great!

I have a feeling your plants will shine as always, my friend!
Hope you got the nasty virus problem licked. Sounds like you
are doing the right things.

Okay, here is a pic of some of the clones. You can see how they have pinched off the cut-off stems,
and healed over. Any little flower buds that were forming when I took the cuttings have also dried up.
The cuttings were taken on 1/8, 19 days ago:

Will have to hit you up on more cloning techniques. I had the same germ rate with Bahamian and bonda that I had to throw more seeds in the dirt. Stay warm.
 
That photo browsing/sorting and geneology investigation sounds like a great project Paul.!! One side of my family can only be traced to 1830 and then the trail goes cold ... and the other side I have no idea about. One of these days I should make sure I find out before all the older knowledge is gone.

Hey, KD! It's not unusual for me to lose a clone or two, I'm
not totally anal about it. I think moderate light and warmth
are the keys, and not too wet at first. My 2012 has a bunch
of cloning stuff in the beginning.

The Scotch Bonnet MoA (Ministry of Agriculture) are seeds
from that government agency in Jamaica. Steve954 sent me
a few.

Glad the Bonda and Bahamian Goat popped for you. I'm hoping
I can get some good results out of the ones I started this season.

Hey Tripps! The TFM, Bonda, and Yellow Sevens are all looking good!

Had a nice surprise this morning; 8/9 Peruvian White Habs (small pod)
sprouted and with cotys unfurling!
