PaulG 2016

Okay, back in the saddle again.  I checked out of this forum last September,
when my wife and I went on an 8-week vacation.  We had a blast, then I came
home to two months of yard work to catch up on, and holiday season to
contend with

I just this week finished grinding up all the dry pods from last season.  Managed
to get my seeds in to soak on Jan. 15th, and into the Jiffy Pellets on Jan. 16th.
I'm going for fewer varieties this season, but 3 or 4 plants of most varieties that
I grow out.  No small pod peppers this year, just too labor intensive for the results,
although I have some awesome small pod powders laid away.   Speaking of which,
I have so much powder I'm considering packaging and selling some this summer.
I'm going to try to sell my fresh pods this Fall, so maybe no more powder production
until I need some, and then, just my favorites.

Bls aside plants are looking great, getting ripe pods already so that's awesome. Those red habs look nice
Thanks for the positivity, Michael! The JA Red Habanero
seed I got from Devv and Walk Good is the best strain
I've grown. In a good season, the pods are big and blocky,
almost like a 7 pot variety.

The Ajis are always vigorous plants, so I'm not surprised they're doing so well despite the BLS. Nice harvest Paul, and the Salmon sammie with Fatalis looks like it tastes/hurts so good... :drooling:  Have a happy 4th!
Rick, that sandwich was to die for! Great Fatali taste and heat.
Fortunately, the fat in the salmon and mayo made the heat
nice and even - just all around scrumptious!

Have fun tomorrow - fireworks and bbq in the mix?

Paul your Bhuts look great. This is the first year that I am not growing any of them.
I've thought about dropping the BJ strains, but the
chocolate variety will be hard to drop. If these in fact
turn red, I'll scout out some new choco BJ seed for
next season.

Enjoy the holiday tomorrow, TC...

lots of summer left my friend ! plants are looking good ,       :onfire:
I keep telling myself that, Frank! Some of the plants seem
to be holding their own. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that
the Scotch Bonnet TFM 3rd generation plants aren't
going to produce any worthwhile pods. I may have to
go back to some 2nd gen seeds and start over next
season. Too bad, last season there were a bunch of A+
pods.

Party on tomorrow, buddy!

   Cool... nice description. :)

No fireworks... I scratched that itch in the Combat Engineers. ;)  BBQ will be Jujeh Kebab. http://familyspice.com/browse-recipes/recipe/?recipe_id=94   Also bringing along the ice cream freezer to make Ginger ice cream.

This looks great!  I'm only growing one yellow pepper this year... always nice to see that color.

Your plants are rolling Paul! Good work as always my friend. It amazes me how you have such large and healthy plants already! ☺

Thanks, Jon; these plants are all five-and-a-half months along,
but I'm afraid that the BLS is going to keep further pod production
down.  Just playing the waiting game to see what will happen.

They get the milk and water treatment today or tomorrow.

Paul, those Fataliis are beautiful! That sandwich made me drool too. Hope you have a great 4th.

You, too, Peter - looks like cooler variable weather here for the 4th.

I use Bonide Copper fungicide for bls. It should prevent the new leaves from developing bls. Hope it doesnt continue to be a problem for ya.

Thanks for the tip, Jon. If Jamie's milk and water spray
doesn't do the trick, I'll give it a try. How often do you spray?

Hey, Uros - don't kick yourself too hard, you have lots of good things
going in your grow/garden this season!  If I could only grow a few varieties,
Yellow Fatali would be one of them, for sure.

Another great tip, Frank, thanks!

You can't go wrong with Yellow Fatalis; for my money just
about the best balance of heat and flavor of the varieties
I've grown.

All the chilis and tomatoe got a little AK Fish fertilizer, AK Mor-Bloom,
And molasses today. These are Mr. Stripey, Big Boy, and Oregon Spring
Alongside a sick Bonnet TFM. I cut it back to the fork today:

These are 3rd generation heirlooms, seed from Penny; 2 Polar, 2 Macedonian,
and one Black Seaman:

Here are the other two Bonnet TFM. They have a few pods that might ripen,
so I left them for the time being:

Hope everyone is having a good July 4th day...

Paul sorry to read that the TFM's are not turning out as well as last season however I am sure the two remaining plants will come strong in the end .... bonchi looks amazing .... spraying milk ... have I missed something !!!

The milk thing is a trick Jamie mentioned - spraying with a half-and-half mix of milk and water for BLS.

If this doest work, I'll try something else, maybe Frank's peroxide and water, or the Bonide fungicide
mentioned by Jon.
