PaulG 2016

Okay, back in the saddle again.  I checked out of this forum last September,
when my wife and I went on an 8-week vacation.  We had a blast, then I came
home to two months of yard work to catch up on, and holiday season to
contend with

I just this week finished grinding up all the dry pods from last season.  Managed
to get my seeds in to soak on Jan. 15th, and into the Jiffy Pellets on Jan. 16th.
I'm going for fewer varieties this season, but 3 or 4 plants of most varieties that
I grow out.  No small pod peppers this year, just too labor intensive for the results,
although I have some awesome small pod powders laid away.   Speaking of which,
I have so much powder I'm considering packaging and selling some this summer.
I'm going to try to sell my fresh pods this Fall, so maybe no more powder production
until I need some, and then, just my favorites.

Besides the bac infection plants still look great Paul . And old wise man turned me onto spraying the plants with a 1/2 milk 1/2 water solution . I have used this method many times in the past with great results . I would give it a go . I usually do two 2 or 3 sprays/applications  about once a week .
Don't know how I missed your post before, Jamie - sorry, my friend!

I wonder how milk works on the bacteria? Maybe something to do
With the calcium? Do you use whole milk or otherwise?

It's all good info for dealing with the bacterial infection... Thanks for sharing, and hope you get a handle on soon Paul!
I may have to try Jamie's milk trick! We are at the beach this
week, so will have to hit 'em hard when we get home. Hope
your grow is going well, Rick.

Looking great!
Very nice Rocoto pods , here in Romania is already very hot and my Pubescens drop all flowers.
Thanks, we still have some cooler weather before the
really hot days arrive, so I'm holding on to hope for now.

Do you have any ripening Rocoto pods?

Looking good, real nice scorpion pod.
Thanks, Michael. Wish there were more than one.
Maybe we'll get lucky.

Great looking plants, as always! That year i'll discover pubescens a bit too, i'm still to have a ripe one, can't wait!
I hope you get some ripe pubescens pods - I don't
think they can be beat for flavor. They are tricky to
grow; i find they need some shade even in our Pacific
Northwest maritime climate.good luck going forward!

Trippa's Mystery Cross, F-3 plant.
Looks like banana-yellow pods on the F-4 pods.
The F-1 were red, the F-2 yellow, and the F-3
white. With the bac spot going on, I may have to
back up and plant the F-2 and F-3 seeds again
next season.

I use skim milk,  I have no idea what the key ingredient is but I would also say the calcium .

Everything is looking good Paul, glad to see the grow is moving along successfully!
Thanks, Chris. I've seen worse; just need
to wait and see who survives the bacteria
invasion. I'll post pics of some sickly plants.

Nice glog Paul!
This is going great for you
Thanks, Charles - there are a few bright spots
among the weakened plants.

You can see the spotted leaf, closs to dropping, and the
yellow cast to some of the plants.

The ripe pods are a real bonus with the bac spot
kicking butt and taking names! We're at the coast
This week, so tomorrow I'll get to see how the plants
have fared the past 6 days.

Good to hear from you, Denniz. I hope you are
having a good chili pepper grow this year. I'll check
your growlog out today.

Everything is looking really good, that mystery cross looks like it might taste pretty good.

Sucks about the leaf spot. Hopefully that doesn't hamper your season too much.
The F-1, 2 and 3 are hotter than blazes, but with good flavor.
It will be interesting to see how these are - should be able to
find out in a couple of days.

As for the bac spot, it is what it is. I'm going to try Jamie's milk
and water spray when we get back home. I'm cautiously optimistic!

Congrats on the extreme membership. It makes my life easier, to just shoot and post from my phone.

Hope the bac spot goes away.

Bonchi is looking good. It'll recover in no time with fresh soil.

That's a beautiful pic of the coast. I swear, I've seen that place in a movie.

Thanks for sharing.

I'll be interested in hearing how the milk and water spray works out for dealing with the Bacterial Spot. Glad to hear that not all plants are affected, and good on ya for getting ripe pods in June... Woot! :woohoo:
