PaulG 2020

Had a nice sunny afternoon, so went out and
nabbed a few pods.

Yellow 7 Pot, bpiela:

Some nice pods in there. I remember my
Yellow 7’s as being smooth-walled back in
2013 or so, but these are pebble-skinned
beauts.

Yellow 7’s have been one of my favorite peppers
since I started growing them. My first seeds came
from Trippa. As a matter of fact, my profile pic is a
Yellow 7, very similar to this one:

Fatali, seed from CaneDog (Seed Train):

Pods on the left for seed savers. Pods not as big
as the SSE Growdown Fatali, but there are lots
more of them. Only two ripe ones on the SSE,
but they are big pods.

Picked a bunch of Mini Red and Yellow Rocotos.
Both are super sweet and juicy, with a pleasant
burn. Probably some of the sweetest peppers
I’ve tried. Reds are about 2x the size of the yellows,
but are more prone to splitting, as you can see:

Seeds from Semillas la Palma.

On the wild side, the c. chacoense v Exile is
getting very close to finishing the season. Lots
of ripe pods:

CaneDog’s Fatali and KS Lemon Starburst.
Both should ripen all their remaining pods;
the Fatali may come up a bit short:

From the greenhouse...

There are so many pods on that plant.
I’ll give a packet of powder to whoever
guesses the exact number  ;)

Man, that BB Hab is LOADED lol.

Now with that offer, that means somebody has to COUNT those pods, all 603 of them.

Supposed to have some nice days coming up,
so these annuums will be harvested in a couple
of days.

My 10 day forecast looks great starting tomorrow, especial Mon-Fri.  Supposed to reach almost 80F mid-week and no rain. The projections don't always hold this time of year, but if it does it will sure help. It's coming down to the wire for me here on a bunch of things.

Your annuum are looking solid, Paul - and the rest, too.  What's your take on the Golden Marconi?  It sounds like it would be great to use fresh, but I haven't tried one.

And I remember the same with the 7P Yellow.  They were smooth when I first started growing them, then suddenly they were all bumpy.

Haha - don't you mean all 604 of them?  :)

Really nice Paul!

Our long term weather "forecast" just two days ago had us in 70s & 80s, the very next day reality kicked in and every day is mid-to-high 50s. With rain. And wind.

Keep those beautiful days as long as you can, but don't be surprised if your "forecast" is yanked out from under ya....

Same here, CD, feast or famine, yes?
Seems like the wire has been our constant
companion for the past several seasons,

my friend!

The Marconi Twins, Red and Golden, are both
superb sweet peppers. Nice crunchy flesh and
flavor. Good on sandwiches and in salads.

I know, I stopped growing Yellow 7’s for a few
seasons, and look what happens when I pick
it up again

We are under a nice high pressure system
for the moment. Accuweather.com has been a
pretty reliable source for our weather here.

A look at the three chinense wilds...

Pulled all the green pods from the Variegated
Jalapeño as they are getting some corking on them:
Hoping to make some easy pickled
jalapeño rings with them.

Cut away all the green foliage and branches
leaving the variegated sections. Am thinking
of an OW project with this one:

Looking at the variegated pods. Will hopefully
get some seeds from them:
